I can see why the Kings waited to tank, but wish they did it earlier.

To tank properly they would have had to concoct a season ending injury to Cousins or at least do not do the trade that got us Rudy. As it is, we do not need a huge star or potential star as we have two already. Some people will say that we have three but I think that is bull roar. To make a comparison to the past, the Kings would have had to pull off an injury much as David Robinson had when the worst team in the league would get Duncan. The "tragic" loss of Robinson resulted in the team having Robinson and Duncan at the same time.

I think the trade that got us Gay essentially removed whatever need people thought existed to get a top three pick. Now we will pick around 7th and even then have a 21% chance of getting a top three pick. 21% is not the smallest of numbers and before people throw in the concept that the Kings are never lucky, the way ping pong balls work has nothing to do with luck. And for those who think the draft is fixed, I could write a long note why that is not possible but I will simply say hogwash.

Right now, we need someone of damn good skill to fill a major hole and that is very likely at pick #7. We have "tanked" enough.

Why would anyone assume that the sixth reply into a thread, which leads off with the words "I'm still waiting" would necessarily be talking about that thread?

I suppose some of us think differently. I would probably ask the counterpart question: why would anyone try to continue a discussion from a completely different thread without so much as referencing the original discussion, as if we were all following along?

At any rate, now I at least understand. And I think the statement you objected to was in fact asinine.

Well, I don't know what goes on in anyone else's head but, as to why I did it, because I decided that I wasn't done talking about it, but didn't feel like bumping the other thread to do so.

As much as Outlaw gets made fun of, on a constant basis around here, he's one of the guys who takes his job seriously and is ready to give effort at all times. He's never checked out once that I've noticed. He also one of our top three most consistent shooters...especially when he has to 'create' his shot over a contesting defender.

The guy just goes out and plays every chance he gets. Says very little. Doesn't get involved with the officials. Just plays the game. I respect that a lot

I admit that I am somewhat amused by the notion that you think that information would factor into my response to his post.

Highly doubtful, especially when Napier intimates that Gay could have played if it counted for something; add Malone's weak response when asked about Gay's injury and you come up with a too little, too late tank. Also, IT's thigh contusion must be of epic proportions to be out this long; there has been barely a parenthetical phrase issued from Kings announcers his status in the last few games.

Please. It's well known and documented that Grant Napear doesn't always let the facts get in the way of a snarky comment at the expense of a player.

Some in-person observations from probably my last game attended this season:

Cousins definitely looked frustrated at times, especially toward the end. Appeared to even take himself out of the game, but at that point I'm not sure why Malone still had him in. I did think his defense looked better for the most part.

The Kings could have used some offense from Williams, and his disappearing act remains a mystery, although should not be surprising given the warnings we received from Wolves fans. When Cousins sat--and of course without Thomas or Gay--the offense did not work. There were times when the team could have used Landry out there to at least provide a low post threat (now, whether that's worth the contract is another issue). Thompson took some inexplicable shots but did have a nice block toward the end.

For most of the game, McCallum showed a nice ability to break down his defender, but what happened afterward rarely worked. Either he passed to a teammate who missed or he missed a jumper of his own. He always seemed to go left, though, and later in the second half the Thunder had adjusted and Adams was cutting him off, then things got tricky for Ray. He'll have to learn to adjust.

The game was surprisingly competitive for three quarters, and I feel like they were only a few missed Caron Butler shots from staying in it for a while. Butler hit some contested jumpers, and was simply on fire out there.

Highlight was probably the guy hitting the half-court shot for the car

Well, by now he might feel it's Wolves all over again. I'm not making excuses, just pointing out that's his likely attitude. And Williams hasn't exactly made steps forward in his game, since he entered the league, so I'm OK with team finding him a new home over the summer or keeping him, but real progress is needed. If playing for a new contract can't motivate him, Kings should dump him as soon as possible.
