Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Well you are in for a real treat tonight. A long long time ago when I first started the grades, they weren't big elaborate analyses. They were little short 2 or 3 sentence per player things, just briefly laying out general highlights/playstyle on the night type things, and tossed out there quickly just so as to provide a basis for postgame discussion on the very active board of the time.

That's all this game deserves.

It was utterly unwatchable dreck. Ignore the numbers even. They are lies. B.S. Junk. We were far worse then even our inflated garbagetime junk made it seem. By the end of the third were were down by 32 and din't have a single double figure scorer. OKC just finally inserted such a group of d-league dropouts and random scrubs and 40 yr olds that we made a "run" against them form 30pts down in the 4th. It meant nothing, and the numbers put up against Perry Jones and Haskeem Thabeet and Derek Fisher meant even less.

Totally unwatchable dreck.

So I closed my laptop, tossed my notes, and am going to do these grad old style. Only thing that will slow me down will be the Girls.

P.S. Oh, and yes, in other action, Tyreke Evans, not good enough to play for us of course, notched 22pts 5reb 15ast and 3stl in his second straight start at PG for the streaking New Orleans Pelicans. Choke on that bone PDA.

Boxscore

Gay ( F ) -- you want an analysis? Here it is: did not come to play. Ray has created almost no shots for anybody these last two games, and so every once in a while Rudy would get it, be tightly guarded, and try to force something up. In the early third just flat got frustrated and stupidly selfish trying to force things through doubles. And of course Durant kicked the crap out of him. Other than that this was peachy. Looking like a guy planning on opting in to $19mil and putting off playing for a new contract until next year.

Evans ( C+ ) -- deserves as much credit as anybody -- he and his two fellow PFs (JT and Acy) were the only points of light on the evening. Don't try to tell me Outlaw is a point of light. Him leading you in scoring is a disastrous sign. Anyway, led us in early scoring..with 4pts. Got under Ibaka's skin in the early third, and with Ray and gay playing idiotic and selfish, and Cuz frozen out and not caring, it was Reggie who was briefly busting his butt trying to chase down all the bricks the idiots were throwing up to try to get us more chances...to throw up more bricks. I briefly thought he might lead us to some energy, pick us up with vet saavy. But half our guys quit before this even started.

Cousins ( F ) -- ok, so...as brilliant as Cousins was last time, he was just as terrible this time. Worst "effort" of the year. You just don't know with these things. Guys are suddenly sitting out. We are auditioning random people. And neither of our two remaining stars looked remotely interested in competing in the travesty that remained. Cuz picked up three cheap little early fouls that destroyed any chance we had. All probably legit, but soft, and maybe unfocused. They swarmed him of course. He got no calls the other way. Ray ignored him. But there was no apparent energy or focus from the beginning. Ray had no clue how to get it to him, and whereas last game Cuz just took over and tried to make everybody better, this time he looked disgusted the whole way. Like what am I doing out here fighting like this disgusted. It was a terrible effort, and my one hope is that everybody was too busy watching college kids run around like chickens with their heads cut off to both tuning into this whipping. Then we can just try to claim Cuz was sick and forget the whole thing.

McLemore ( D ) -- don't let the raw scoring column fool you here, even if it would. Look at everything here. They didn't even have Sefalosha tonight and Ben struggled mightily again. They had somebody who doesn't even qualify as a nobody starting against him. For half the night it looked like he was guarded by 79yr old Derek Fisher. And still nothing fell. He could finish nothing inside against the Thunder interior roleplayers. Ben played the whole game to get those not so gaudy numbers (46 minutes!). He shot less than 33% again to get those numbers. He was 1-8 at halftime, and he wasn't even in double figures as we entered the 4th quarter down 31pts. So yes, next time we are looking to get some incredibly inefficient garbagetime padding scoring going, hey Ben is our guy.

McCallum ( D ) -- again, deceptive numbers. there was one stretch the whole game where ray was effective in the second quarter, and the irony was this: half his effectiveness was gunning like Isaiah Thomas, slashing in, throwing up complete junk, and then letting our 3 big man amigos go chase it and try to finish it. once he made a nice solid PG play to set up Aaron Gray for his only bucket just before half. Mostly he once again ineffectively dawdled around at the 3pt line and passed it to perimeter guys. He would try a drive of his own effectively. he never at any point got either Rudy or Cuz into a rhythm. And hence he never got he offense into a rhythm. A couple of his assists were on horizontal passes across the top to Travis Outlaw, who hit his threes tonight. Westbrook largely ignored him/blew his doors off the other way, then sat down and let the scrubs have a go at him. We haven't shown we can score with him as a starter.

Thompson ( B ) -- nobody gets a great grade in this one. Nobody. And frankly despite the strong numbers, JT didn't really matter enough to get one either. but he did put them up, and he did, unlike anybody else but his fellow PFs, make a contribution. Defensively? Rarely. But while he and Acy were out there they really controlled the glass, with JT stronger on the d-boards, and Acy (numbers aside) stronger on the o-boards. our best non-Travis Outlaw offense on the night was having one of our sad chuckers just randomly throw the ball in the general direction of the backboard, and then have JT and Acy go try to chase it down and lay it in. Very advanced stuff. Bet Coach Carril is proud.

Outlaw ( B- ) -- here's what Travis Outlaw did on the night: 5 times he ran off to the corner or side, took passes, and drained threes. Three times he did it in the 2nd quarter while the game was still...well let's be honest here, it was never in doubt. But he did it before garbagetime let's say. Twice more he did it in garbagetime. There was a sad moment in the first half when his threes actually were the only thing keeping us...again, not in the game, but from even worse humiliation. Here's what he didn't do: anything else. 1-7 for anything but a standstill 3. Durant ignored him on defense. Travis Outlaw still. But really until Ben's garbagetime "explosion" our only effective scorer. Such an awful statement.

Acy ( B ) -- deserves a lot of credit for at least fighting in there. Kept coming up with athletic offensive boards, and was scrapping for defensive ones as well. And no, could not finish them as a rule. But he did drop in one post move, and I thought he had one athletic block, but its not in the boxscore. On the other hand when he was pulled out to the perimeter he was useless trying to close on three point shooters. Anyway, this was his career high on the glass. So grats and all that. but we got slaughtered in ugly fashion, and while his effort, a big word tonight, was appreciated, he still was inefficient and hardly turning any tides.

Gray ( INC ) -- for the second time in however long it has been, Aaron came in, barely played, but did well with his barely playing. He committed an intentional foul in very intentional foul fashion. h8e took a little bounce pass from Ray and flipped one in for our last score of the first half. And he grabbed a board. In fact he might have done his job out there exactly as expected better than anybody else on the team tonight.

Henry Cavill -- I've barely bothered throwing out any Hunky Hes all year, but since this was as unwatchable as any loss of the year, for both sexes, here. A Man of Steel who finally looks like one.

Your not going to build anything successful building around Cousins/Gay as your two best players other than landing more top 5 picks, seriously if Rudy Gay does not opt out and we don't get hard working 2 way players next season is going to be as bad as this one. Rudy Gay is just so SOFT and his defensive IQ and passing out of a double team is just so bad. Cousins went back to rookie Cousins just building houses with bricks and taking himself out of games needlessly.

That was ****ing horrible, dumbass basketball might work against the Bucks/Knicks but it's just going to result in 20 point whoppings against any good team. We have looked worse without IT than we looked with either Cousins or Gay tbh which is kind of shocking.

Not really. Cousins is out we replace him with JT/Landry/Dwill, none of whom are stars but have had a good amount of experience in this league as backups. Same goes with Gay - Dwill while no star has at least played a few years in the league, and is still a talented player. Take away IT and ... we're left with a second round pick who just barely started getting in the rotation. It's not so much an indication of Cousins/Gay/IT's respective worth, but rather an indication of our depth or lack thereof at their respective positions.

Side note: Would Gay be allowed to "test the waters" before deciding to opt in or not? Or would he technically be under contract and not allowed to go talk to other teams?

Not willing to stipulate that McCallum not being good enough to start proves that Thomas should. Neither one of them should start; we need an actual point guard in the starting lineup, not a rookie still learning to play the position at the pro level, and not an undersized shooting guard.

That cutie Pizza Guys girl fits right in with these other beauties IMO.

Looking at where her torso is behind counter and where IT is in shot - maybe she's about as tall (or short) as The Pizza Guy:)

could be worse... The Sixers haven't won since January

If I'd known beforehand I would have passed along my Pretty Girl schtick to their fan(s). Of course by now they'd be down to threads full of Roseanne Barr and Phyllis Diller pics.

Don't count on the Girls: Brick is 0-3, so far.

You can't go 0-for-3 when you lead off with Chyler Leigh. But I will admit that's about the 428,742nd-best picture* of Mia Kirschner.

*True story: There exist exactly 428,741 pictures of Mia Kirschner taken when she was not under the influence of heroin.

I don't think this proves what you think it proves.

It proves we need A point guard out there who's not a second round nobody. It doesn't at all prove that IT is that guy.

It's just ridiculous how so many want to diss IT. The guy is the second best player on the team, PERIOD. He is better than tyreke. I haven't looked at the number but I bet he has better numbers. If the Kings trade him I guarantee he is on a playoff team in the next few years. I mean the guy gives it everything he has. All he gets is a bunch of armchair point guards who think they are smarter than everyone else and love to talk trash. How about we support the players who are contributing. Peace out.

So if he wasn't on the kings, he'd be in the playoffs, because he's that good? Wait, what?

Ridiculous? IT lock-down defender? IT at supposedly 5'9" can play 3 different positions? IT is that good? Most here are not dissing IT or hating on the little dude. They just want him for what he's best suited for in NBA as spark-plug scoring sixth man.

That says more about our team than it does about IT

I go back and forth between being annoyed and just feeling sorry for you guys. Being a Belieber is just so undignified. Not in me.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Weather you are annoyed or not is irrelevant. Weather you think my beliefs are undignified is irrelevant.
