Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Well you are in for a real treat tonight. A long long time ago when I first started the grades, they weren't big elaborate analyses. They were little short 2 or 3 sentence per player things, just briefly laying out general highlights/playstyle on the night type things, and tossed out there quickly just so as to provide a basis for postgame discussion on the very active board of the time.
That's all this game deserves.
It was utterly unwatchable dreck. Ignore the numbers even. They are lies. B.S. Junk. We were far worse then even our inflated garbagetime junk made it seem. By the end of the third were were down by 32 and din't have a single double figure scorer. OKC just finally inserted such a group of d-league dropouts and random scrubs and 40 yr olds that we made a "run" against them form 30pts down in the 4th. It meant nothing, and the numbers put up against Perry Jones and Haskeem Thabeet and Derek Fisher meant even less.
Totally unwatchable dreck.
So I closed my laptop, tossed my notes, and am going to do these grad old style. Only thing that will slow me down will be the Girls.
P.S. Oh, and yes, in other action, Tyreke Evans, not good enough to play for us of course, notched 22pts 5reb 15ast and 3stl in his second straight start at PG for the streaking New Orleans Pelicans. Choke on that bone PDA.

Gay ( F ) -- you want an analysis? Here it is: did not come to play. Ray has created almost no shots for anybody these last two games, and so every once in a while Rudy would get it, be tightly guarded, and try to force something up. In the early third just flat got frustrated and stupidly selfish trying to force things through doubles. And of course Durant kicked the crap out of him. Other than that this was peachy. Looking like a guy planning on opting in to $19mil and putting off playing for a new contract until next year.

Evans ( C+ ) -- deserves as much credit as anybody -- he and his two fellow PFs (JT and Acy) were the only points of light on the evening. Don't try to tell me Outlaw is a point of light. Him leading you in scoring is a disastrous sign. Anyway, led us in early scoring..with 4pts. Got under Ibaka's skin in the early third, and with Ray and gay playing idiotic and selfish, and Cuz frozen out and not caring, it was Reggie who was briefly busting his butt trying to chase down all the bricks the idiots were throwing up to try to get us more chances...to throw up more bricks. I briefly thought he might lead us to some energy, pick us up with vet saavy. But half our guys quit before this even started.

Cousins ( F ) -- ok, so...as brilliant as Cousins was last time, he was just as terrible this time. Worst "effort" of the year. You just don't know with these things. Guys are suddenly sitting out. We are auditioning random people. And neither of our two remaining stars looked remotely interested in competing in the travesty that remained. Cuz picked up three cheap little early fouls that destroyed any chance we had. All probably legit, but soft, and maybe unfocused. They swarmed him of course. He got no calls the other way. Ray ignored him. But there was no apparent energy or focus from the beginning. Ray had no clue how to get it to him, and whereas last game Cuz just took over and tried to make everybody better, this time he looked disgusted the whole way. Like what am I doing out here fighting like this disgusted. It was a terrible effort, and my one hope is that everybody was too busy watching college kids run around like chickens with their heads cut off to both tuning into this whipping. Then we can just try to claim Cuz was sick and forget the whole thing.

McLemore ( D ) -- don't let the raw scoring column fool you here, even if it would. Look at everything here. They didn't even have Sefalosha tonight and Ben struggled mightily again. They had somebody who doesn't even qualify as a nobody starting against him. For half the night it looked like he was guarded by 79yr old Derek Fisher. And still nothing fell. He could finish nothing inside against the Thunder interior roleplayers. Ben played the whole game to get those not so gaudy numbers (46 minutes!). He shot less than 33% again to get those numbers. He was 1-8 at halftime, and he wasn't even in double figures as we entered the 4th quarter down 31pts. So yes, next time we are looking to get some incredibly inefficient garbagetime padding scoring going, hey Ben is our guy.

McCallum ( D ) -- again, deceptive numbers. there was one stretch the whole game where ray was effective in the second quarter, and the irony was this: half his effectiveness was gunning like Isaiah Thomas, slashing in, throwing up complete junk, and then letting our 3 big man amigos go chase it and try to finish it. once he made a nice solid PG play to set up Aaron Gray for his only bucket just before half. Mostly he once again ineffectively dawdled around at the 3pt line and passed it to perimeter guys. He would try a drive of his own effectively. he never at any point got either Rudy or Cuz into a rhythm. And hence he never got he offense into a rhythm. A couple of his assists were on horizontal passes across the top to Travis Outlaw, who hit his threes tonight. Westbrook largely ignored him/blew his doors off the other way, then sat down and let the scrubs have a go at him. We haven't shown we can score with him as a starter.
