The lack of a straight A here comes for am old pet peeve of mine with Rick -- his borderline unsportsmanlike tendency to run his starters to the bitter end of blowout games. Not only does it come dangerously close to being unclassy running up the score, but it risks stupid unnecessary injuries to key guys, gives the bench no time to work out the kinks, nor does it give the benchers any confidence, and on a night when you know you have to fly back to Sacto to play again in less than 24 hours, it puts extra wear and tear on the main guy's legs for nothing. Was particularly annoyed to see us call a timeout (or maybe it was the Sonics) with 2:40 to go, while up 16, with at least three starters still on the floor, and come back out of the timeout with all three of those guys still in the game. Ridiculous. Only gets a half-pass tonight because of the desperation of our situation, and need for a win. Anwyay, can't overshadow what was otherwise a very strong night for Rick, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth to close things up.
