One thing does bother him, though, and that's when people point out how good he is. Jinxes him.

There was a game (season before last, I think, but I could be wrong) where he was on the verge of breaking the franchise record for consecutive free throws. One of the commentators mentioned that a writer joked with Mike about it before the game and Mike said something about jinxing it. Sure enough, he tied the record early in the game, missed the next free throw and shot poorly from the line for the rest of the game.
he actually broke the record.. he currently holds the franchise record with 49 (if i remember correctly) straight made FTs.. peja, just this last week was close to breaking mike's record.. he came within about 3 or 4 until he missed a FT..

I think Peja did break that record last season....or it didn't count becasue it carried on into the playoffs, not sure. I do however know Peja holds the record for consecutive games with at least 1 (made) 3pt shot actually he broke it and then broke his own record :)....Of course none of that matters right now since he can't seem throw a ball into the Pacific

i thought that elbow in miller's face was going to unite the kings and show the sonics who their daddy was.

well, that didn't happen. miller was the army of one out there, all of the others either didn't care or were too tired to care.

i think it didn't count, reina, cause it carried on into the playoffs.. i just read last week from the sacbee about peja being 4 (?) FTs away from breaking mike's record.. so obviously, i was closely watching peja's FTs.. ;) he made 2 FTs then missed his 3rd (i think).. i don't remember exactly how many consecutive FTs peja hit (over the season) but i'm sure he didn't break the record.. :)

Okay, see, this is why I dont usually post anything stat-like -- I'm SO not a stat junkie.

But, the jist of my little story still remains the same.

Right??
