Summary:
Gay ( C+ ) -- Rudy was sort of there at times tonight at both ends of the floor. He only had one turnover, and it was in the first quarter so he got it out of the way early. And although he shot 50% from the floor, it didn't feel like it. He never seemed to be in a flow. He's hit a shot, and then disappear for a while. He managed to play 31 minutes despite being in foul trouble from the beginning of the game. And, its possible that those two quick fouls in the first quarter affected his overall performance defensively. He had some good moments, like when he stole the ball from Howard, but he had some bad moments as well. Twice in the game Ariza just blew by Rudy. Fortunately for Rudy, he missed a layup on one of the attempts. Another time while guarding Harden, Rudy backed off of him and Harden hit an easy three. But then stuck on the perimeter in a switch, guarding Terry, he did a great job of Keeping Terry in front of him and forcing him into a bad shot. So from my perspective, it was sort of a disjointed game for Rudy. I never felt as though he had that much of an impact. At least not for a player of his caliper. --Baja

Summary:
Casspi ( C ) -- Omri had a fairly typical game for him. His shot was a little off, especially his three point shot where he went one for six. But he was Mr. Hustle as usual, and for the most part, he defended well. He got caught in a couple of picks, and in one instance, Howard had a hold of his jersey. Well done there! He managed to create an untimely turnover when we least needed it, but then he wasn't alone in that category. A lot of what Omri does, doesn't show up in the boxscore. However, tonight wasn't his best night. Especially in the rebounding dept. He only grabbed 3 boards, which is half his season average. All in all, not a bad game for Omri, but tonight we could used his best. --Baja

Summary:
McLemore ( A ) -- Nobody's perfect. Ben, for instance, had two very visible mistakes in the fourth quarter - once sloughing off of Trevor Ariza in the corner giving him an open three, once missing a gimme reverse layup on a beautiful pass from Rondo. But far from Ben being the reason we lost this game, I'll make the case that Ben was the reason we were in it in the first place. The Kings played a horrible first quarter and finished it up down 13, but made up 11 of those points in the second quarter largely due to Ben's efforts - 11 points and tremendous defense on James Harden. Given that Harden got 31 points tonight you might assume that he torched Ben, but that's not really the case. By my accounting Harden scored 12 of those points on Ben (though two were free throws in garbage time) and made only two field goals, one on a blatant pushoff that didn't get called, and one on a three with Ben directly in his face. And I think he only legitimately got around Ben on a drive two or three times (and yes, the FTs from those times did count against Ben in my book). Remarkably, Harden scored a grand total of zero on Ben in the first half, and when he was on the floor while we made our comeback in the second he was completely stifled, not even getting off a shot on Ben in the quarter. For some reason, Ben wasn't on Harden full time, sometimes because of switches but for many possessions because we had Omri or Rajon pick him up instead, and given Ben's success tonight, that was a mistake. Ben's D wasn't limited to only locking down Harden as well as you can ask, he also came up with a block in the lane and three steals - and he was crashing the boards, credited for nine rebounds but if you got a rebound in the scorebook after a teammate's blocked shot, Ben would have had a double-double tonight. And of course, ben was scoring up a storm. He hit 60% of his threes and was consistently beating the Rockets down the floor until they adjusted at halftime. 19/9 and great defense - Ben was probably the best player on the floor for us tonight.
