Close enough. ket's put it this way -- I doubt he will have another game this good for the REMAINDER of his career at least. He's decrepit. Almost retired last year. And lit us up of course.

Oh yeah. Just pointing out the exaggeration was all.

Both Peja and Bibby deserve F because they were bloody pathetic. They think its still a pre-season and while I think they will turn the corner eventually (as all good players do) I hope they pull their finger out. The sooner the better.

Brad, Bonzi and SAR were quality. Great to see the 2 new starters stepping up to the plate.

The most promising thing I saw was SAR drawing double-teams in the low block. Double-teams!! When has a Kings player EVER been double-teamed? No one usually dares, because it's going to leave someone open. But he's that good in the post. Then in the 3rd Quarter the Kings stopped going to him and played one on one basketball.

The offense has to go through Miller and especially SAR. Simple as that. The offense went south when Bibby, Bonzi and Peja started playing one on one instead of moving the ball through the post. Bonzi is showing some serious heart, but he's yet to learn how to get his points through the flow of the offense.

Also, everyone is down on Peja because he missed shots, but it's not like he was sleep-walking through the game, a la Bibby. He was extremely active, relentlessly moved without the ball and at least tried on the defensive end, even if he simply cannot begin to guard someone like McGrady.

This team could be really good, people. They could also be bad, but it's too early to start jumping off bridges. The supposed "career losers," Bonzi and SAR, have been the Kings' most effective performers. If Bibby and Peja come back watch out -- they're going to look really, really good.

Martin ( C+ ) -- in the first half moved his feet well on defense, but was a half step slow on several occasions leading to him picking up fouls. Good effort but did nothing else first half. Repeatedly victimized by the saaviness of Jon Barry in the 4th, and did little beyond grab a few boards. Opportunity knocked when Peja fouled out late, and Rick showed confidence in Kevin and inserted him for what have been the first meaningful late game minutes of his career. Kevin did not embarrass himself, got a nice putback jumper off of a SAR hustle play, but did not have much overall impact. Maybe played just well enough tonight to avoid Rick actually losing confidence in him, but certainly nothing to create confidence where there was none before. to face a team that should let us score more easily in Phoenix.

I'm starting to wonder why we even drafted this kid. His shot is probably the worst in the NBA and he frankly does nothing else. I would rather have Garcia get the minutes because at least he can hit a shot and plays with tireless energy out there. Marting just looks lost all the time.

Adleman did bench him for a good stretch. However, I really think that he has to keep shooting. That is the ONLY way to get out of a shooting funk. I was more upset when he did NOT take the open shots at the end. I only listened to the game. I did not get to watch it, but it sounded like Peja did not play as bad as an F would warrant. His shot was way off, but it sounded more like a c/d grade. Of course, I generally only give F's for COMPLETE lack of effort or contribution.

Peja was missing WIDE OPEN shots. He also only collected 3 rebounds. I think that deserves an F for the "best shooter in the game". Bonzi was great tonight except he was a turnover machine.

The Kings player who got owned should have to present it after the game and say, "Thanks for schoolin' me, boss..."

My take is that Bibby is trying to overcompensate. He wants SOOOOO badly to be the man that he is TRYING to be the man. Being the man is something you do or don't do. It isn't something you aspire to and force.

Peja doesn't want to be a part of this team. He's a pouter. He wants his money and he wants to be back with bosom budfdy Vlade. That's my opinion.

Brick - I defintely agree with starters' grades, but your C+'s to Martin and Thomas are too generous. The bench, coupled with horrific performances by Peja and Mike, was our downfall. D's at best for those guys.

I agree, and I think Garcia got very lucky with an incomplete. Adelman looked furious after he took that last quick three and yanked him never to return.

This loss was not the least bit difficult to undertstand. Furthermore, the situation is not hopeless. The rookies have playedoorly, and I doubt that they, as a group, will become reliable and useful players this year. However, if Kevin, Cisco, or any one of them turn into an excellent player this year, then the Kings will be much better. None of these guys hold a candle to Bobby Jackson. Odds are that one of them will make something happen by the Allstar Break. We will eventually be fine with this bunch. Our pre-season expectations of the rookies were too high.

Peja and Mike have been stinking up the joint with their shooting. This pattern CAN NOT last very long. These guys ARE shooters. If Mike and Peja had played even an average game last night, the Kings would have beaten Houston on the home opener. This will not stand.

I really think Brad Miller is our surrogate Vlade Divac. The Kings need to use him as such. Rahim is really good, and Bonzi is my new hero. The Kings will turn it around.

I think Bibby and Peja have been forcing a lot of issues and is causing some pressure on themselves to perform better. i think they should just relax, play there game, and not force issues. As MJ once said, let the game come to you..(if i'm not mistaken..) and not the other way around. they'll be ok and i think Kings will be able to pull everything together as a team..
