"I guess we gotta get some better players..." "We're a bad basketball team now, that's the bottom line..."

I stated an opinion that addressed this quote of Malone's. You can have a different opinion but I think there is room to interpret this comment the way I saw it. Frankly I wonder what PDA is doing and if it is all with the stamp of Malone's approval, I have questions about both of their decisions. They have traded away or not resigned every player skilled at defense so why now complain that they can't play defense? They got what they wanted.

Would it help if he said "We were an even worse team before the trades?" You can be a bad team but still not be bashing on the GM. They, by all accounts, have a good relationship. I didn't read it at all like a bash against Pete. They have had lots of games and very few practices before this week with the new players. And you can be improving your talent pool and still be a bad team, right?

Tricky thing is whether I would have IT or not. As the #60 pick I scarcely had any opposition to us taking him, or anyone. But its hubris to think that I would have also uncovered that one gem in the rough. Nonetheless, for current purposes I did not, nor would I have, advocated for anybody else with that pick, and it was a pick we got through trade not our own record. Would have to know what trade to know if I'd have even had it.
According to B-R.com, the pick that became Isaiah Thomas was acquired in the Brockman trade (July 21, 2010): http://www.basketball-reference.com/executives/petrige01x.html

I don't know why my note of a couple days ago is so interesting. I am not up to debating it as I am very unhappy with this team. Perhaps I am the only person who thinks this way but I, personally, see little direction or goals in our FO. This isn't a tank as the team will lose whether the FO is trying to do it or not. That's what makes it laughable TO ME. I feel sorry for Malone. He busts his ass in his rookie year and maybe even feels little job security. I think he SHOULD have job security but the way bodies are shuffling in and out of Sacramento might even leave a doubt in his mind. I think he should be safe.

How can he feel OK? Put yourself in his position. He can't change who is here and what they do at least not to his satisfaction. I am sure he is his own worst critic.

I'm done. I see ways out of this mess but not in the immediate future. We were warned about having expectations about this season. "Don't expect much." Malone isn't wired that way and in the short term, his job may feel like hell. In the long term, I think he will be happy he survived. :(

Please. The need to rundown Reke sprang from ignorance and now has settled into pathetic sour grapes.

Reke's played through 2 major ankle injuries this year, came back early from both of them actually saying he wanted to help the team. He's still putting up 17.4pts 6.9reb 5.5ast 1.8stl 0.5blk per 36 min, which is inline with his career averages. He's still better than any guard on our roster, and likely a more versatile talent than any player on our roster not named Cousins.

Why pump him up? Lamenting the fact that a player is no longer on the roster seems self defeating. I care about Reke the same way I care about Kevin Martin.....VERY LITTLE

He's absolutely in beast mode tonight for what it's worth.

For the record I like Tyreke Evans! I just don't understand the point of highlighting his stats? Our front office screwed up?

Ahhhhh gotcha!!!!!!!

Yes. I have concerns about the judgment of our FO with how they handled Tyreke, the signing of Landry, the continued shuffling off of defensive minded players like Mbah a Moute with a coach who values defense, etc.

What the hell does "Ahhhhh gotcha" mean?

Yes, that would be the very strong implication. You know that glaring sg hole? He filled it.

I think to consistently lament a PRIOR Kings player is self defeating. That's my over riding point. He's not on the team!! Did the the GM FU? I don't know... I hope the players we currently have will improve. I hope we draft better players. I hope we make great trades. What I know is that Tyreke Evans is no longer on the team.

Rubbing the nose of our front office in his performances doesn't do jack. But, if it makes you feel better post away....

Boy, my point went over your head. If we cannot look at the body of work to judge the competency of a FO, how are we to evaluate them?

Haha..."Boy?" my dad called me that when I used to stay out late or take his car without permission......

How exactly does highlighting a game by game performance judge the competency of our FO? If Tyreke blows his ankle(s) AGAIN does that mean that PDA was a genius for cutting his losses?? Get over it....
I get the sense from team Ranadive that if the front office isn't performing their longevity is in question...

I'm not actually under the impression PDA is reading this.

It's pretty much the first thing this ownership group did. It's relevant.
