Don't Make Me Use The Bat
In what took on the aspect of a grudge match, although its hard to imagine what the grudge was over, we shot 2-20 from 3pt land and missed 12 FTs. On top of that your three biggest weapons combined to go 11-40. Game over. What must be said however is that we did NOT play terribly. We shot terribly. There were loose turnovers and whatnot. But for long stretches of this one we made those extra passes, and we competed hard down the stretch of a very physical game with shaky refereeing. It was ugly, but nothing to be ashamed over. We fought together as a team. Just one of those nights, and playing against a suddenly scorching hot Denver team gearing up for the playoffs. Turned into a real war out there, and we did not back down. So all in all not going to be too unhappy about this one. Wish the ball movement and scrappy effort had been rewarded, but play like this and have even an average shooting night and you can win games.

Official Boxscore

Alright, so looking at my schedule here not entirely sure when I will be able to get to these, so we'll see.

Garcia ( B ) -- nice pass to a moving Cousins for rhe dunk to start this one, and doing some subtle little glue things in the early going, knocking balls away on defense etc.. Started stroking his long jumpers from the corners, and was 3-3 early. Taken out for the last few minutes of he half not because he wasn't playing well enough, but because we specifically wanted to try the 3 guard lineup, ironically on a night when all three guys were struggling. Not as strong after the break, but still finished the game as our leading scorer

You know what's funny? We had more players score in double figures with seven and we managed to lose the game. How often do you see a team lose a game with seven players in double figures? That's pretty balanced scoring right there. Sure, everybody did their part in just being off, but I'm just saying it's a stat that pops out at me when I look at it. We were awful trying to pass out of double teams, Cousins had the most success cause he did it fast. Tyreke just waited for it to come and then was in trouble. Cousins did it a few times himself. My oh my how bad Tyreke needs to work on his jumper, it seemed like he only took 2-3 jumpers and he made one. I wanted to see us post Thornton more, Iso him on one side like we do with Reke. When Cousins got taken out of the game, Denver stopped double teaming for the most part and just played man to man defense where we couldn't get a thing going. While Cousins was off, he was the one we should be working our offense through, period! end of discussion. He can keep missing all he wants but if its him going one on one I like his chances to improve and he's smart enough to be a willing passer when help comes. I hope we bounce back against the Jazz, thats a winnable game if there ever is one.

Sometimes shots don't fall and this was evidence number 1 of that phenomena. It happens.

I think a player of the game (man of the match for the UK) should go to Dally for coming to the defense of Cuz. He grabbed an armful of Nuggets nicely and the message was clear. These two big guys play well together but more than that they have a relationship that is better than most. A few games ago they were out of the game sitting on the bench and Cuz put his arms around Dally's shoulder while they laughed. Anybody think that guy who whacked Cuz should get a fine?

Anyway to continue the theme, Westy took a tech for the consistent mauling of Cuz and Cuz thanked him in the typical sports move that would start a fight on the street. Maybe these things aren't a big deal with most teams but I think for Cuz, it was priceless. He isn't the same guy who started the season. Maybe a little tired but the rest of it is becoming a non issue - and quickly.

I hope Cuz never has to come to the defense of Dally. We would be picking body parts off the floor.
