Well, I don't know. Maybe because Lopez, Evans, and Blatche combined to go 17-27 from the floor and score 40 points and grab 28 rebounds?

Oh that explains it. You just looked at the box score. Okay I see where you are coming from.

Sorry buddy, you asked for evidence and I gave it to you. Sometimes, the truth hurts. Regardless, can we just drop this argument? All I suggested is that he should have received a B grade which isn't bad when you get blown out and are never even competitive. You would have thought I yelled "Bomb" at an airport with the reaction that I got from that.

It's just funny how when Thornton scores 24 points, he will get a B or B- because they player he was defending scored 20+ as well, but when that happens with DMC nobody ever sees that side of it.

Did they do that all against Boogie? And, even so, some nights the other team can't miss no matter what they throw up there. It happens. I watched the game (or at least most of it) and didn't recall seeing Boogie playing bad defense.

There are so many holes in your "evidence" that it shouldn't even be considered evidence. The fact that you think Cousins is responsible for how all three of the guys played offensively is asinine. The only players Cousins really guarded were Lopez and Evans and by no means did he guard them the entire night. Lopez is one of the best centers in the league. In fact, he is leading all centers in scoring this year. It's tough for anyone to shut down that caliber of player especially when his supporting cast is knocking down jumpers left and right which tends to lead to less help defense.

Stats don't show the quality of shots these players took. You could play the best defense in the world, but the shot could still go in. Sometimes no matter how good of defense you play, your matchup will be making them all day. Some nights it just happens that way. As long as he is contesting their shots, I could care less if they go in because more often than not we will reap the benefits. Please don't throw shooting stats at me and suggest that he played poor defensively. A lot of other variables come into play.

In terms of Thornton when he scores 24 points and receives a B grade, it is usually because he did it inefficiently. There is also the case to be made that he doesn't contribute to any other facet of the game (defense, rebounding, passing, etc.). Unlike Cousins who does offer more than just scoring. So as many have mentioned, please take a step back and take the blinders off.

Well ****, the nets front court must get a C since Cuz, JT and TRob went 22 for 36 for 51 points and 21 rebounds. Not bad considering the nets shot 44-85 and the kings 36-90. That means they had 13 more chances for defensive rebounds.

Hey man, it's obvious your love fest with DMC is strong. That's great. More power to you. You're a fan. I get that. I'm also a fan but I'm capable of looking at this team in
an honest and intellectual manner.

and the debate is won. Good job Warhawk and 101. I think we finally got through to him.

Lol. Weak. I'm a leader not a follower. I don't just agree with everybody here because its the popular opinion. I'm stronger than that.

After you said he played no defense, I was the first one to disagree with you. I called you out on it and you haven't given me any evidence besides giving me shooting stats from the Nets' 3 bigs. If anything, that is what's weak around here.

Look, I've tried to be respectful to you in this debate and I know a lot of this is in good fun but if you really can't see that he played poor defense that game then you really don't have a clue at all.

It's not like it's the end of the world. The entire team was tired and didn't play well. 4 games in 5 nights. I get that you have a man crush on DMC and all but you might want to pick your spots and you'll get more respect.

Yes I'm the one who gives actual evidence and gets accused of being biased and a fanboy of Cousins. Really? Come on man. Give us something that helps your point and we will back off, but when all you say is he played poor defensively without anything to back it up, it makes you look plain silly.

He passed the eye test on defense the other night, he stood his man up well and didn't bite on fakes. Most of the close range shots I saw were contested. He did go for a couple steals which led to some really easy looks for the Nets, but when he was standing his man up, I thought he did fine. No way am I saying he deserves an A on defense, but it would also be unfair to say he played poor defensively.

Maybe you should also think of this the other way? 4th game in 5 nights and look at how well he played and the monster numbers on the whole road trip? Give credit where it is due, my good man!

I'm sorry, I just can't! I have super high expectations. To me, I just can't see how anybody can deserve anything better than a B in that debacle of a game!

to be fair, the game was lost during Smarts brilliant bench lineup at the beginning of the 2nd. Cousins was on the bench so its hard to blame him when he had to play the game in a hole because of that stretch by the bench
