Jim Les is truly a legend. I gave my brother a custom made "Les For Threee!" Kings jersey on his birthday back in 1991 or so.

umm... Jim Les was almost automatic from 3 for the Kings that one season.
I believe he led the league in 3 ptrs for most (if not all) of one season.
He was more of a reason _I_ watched the team at that time than Bill Russell, so at least this one fan's experience refutes your statement.
