Okay, there comes a point when the hyperbole becomes unfair to a guy like Corliss. This is a former 17ppg scorer and 6th Man of the Year we are talking about, and really, his game doesn't appear to have slipped THAT much. Certainly on a team rounding out its bench with Harts Taylors Potapenkos Doubys and Prices he isn't a 12th man. I've always found him an awkward misfit piece in the NBA, but he can be a walking mismatch correctly applied, and he knows how to play. The question is do we know how to use him? He is NOT a PF, and playing him at C is just a joke. Playing him at C against Dwight Howard... :(

12th man was hyperbole on my part, and yeah, with the right matchups he can be very effective, especially when an opposing team tries to go small. But against the Spurs and Magic, teams with all 6'11"/7'0" frontlines it's just kind of ridiculous to play Corliss at PF and C becuase he's so badly outmatched. Corliss has his places, but he should be a matchup-driven sub, not a sub... just because. Maybe Muss is rewarding him for his hard work and energy to set an example, but KT/SAR/Miller, while possessing plenty of weaknesses themselves, are just much better than Corliss, particularly against big opposing lineups.

Why and like who?

No idea. But if we are not starting our starting center, and he's playing good minutes (not too injured to play), I wonder if someone is trying to build up value somewhere. Just strikes me as, well, weird.

I just don't know, but always get a bit suspicious when PT for players goes a bit haywire for no obvious reason....

If you recall, they said right from the beginning they would not be rushing Miller back into full service, but would be bringing him along slowly to make sure there weren't any further problems.

I thik that's a pretty obvious reason for him not having his regular minutes...YET.

I remember that, but he is playing more than 1-2 minute spots and he's a better center than SAR/Corliss, so why not start him?

Just seems a bit strange is all.

He's only been back a couple of games. The Kings are in the middle of 4 games in 5 nights. I think the idea is to see how Miller is after that stretch.

Maybe, but normally a starter starts as soon as he's back, or maybe 1 or 2 games at most. To come off the bench after so many games and so many minutes is unusual.

I'm hoping it's not a permanent Musselman switch so I'm hoping you're right.
