.......a lot.

Perhaps Malone has to now focus on getting Carl going. His first task was to get Ben to improve apparently on defense and not offense, Nik is improving, Malone is playing Williams, and next the focus will be on Carl. Perhaps Carl is being ignored because it isn't his turn. I am being serious. There are a lot of players on this team who don't have a legitimate NBA game.

Landry's not that guy though. Landry's confidence doesn't wane. Been around too long, done too much. Nik/Ben/DWill? Definitely. Their whole games can depend on whether they hit their first few shots. But Landry? This is an old established pro who doesn't need coddling. Does need the ball though. Just been odd not only in lack of productivity, but in his attitude. He's looked upset out there. Not glum, scared, determined, professional or anything. For at least a week he's looked like he was pissed and frustrated about something.

Maybe guarding and being guarded by centers is getting old.

Perhaps he is not the player of the week. I don't know what is wrong with him unless his injuries took more out of him then we know. We need him and that makes it doubly frustrating. I am suggesting that Malone is not good at double tasking and as experienced as Carl is, he missed a year. That may have been more of a problem than we might guess.

Well, a brief scan of my memory brings to mind repeated recent WTF fouls that have been called on him.
It seems that he plays good body/positional defense, but he's been called for a crap-ton of fouls lately. Averaging a foul almost every 4 minutes he's on the floor the past 5 games.

Of course, my memory can't check itself, because the Kings broadcast almost never replays questionable fouls, instead substituting Grant & Jerry's immediate knee-jerk reaction that "yeah, that was for sure a foul" and "the refs are usually right". (It's SO nauseating to endure, especially from Kings broadcasters and is such blatant propaganda/PR it makes me sick).

It seems like since Boogie's been out, the refs have to get their nightly allotment of bullcrap calls, and Carl's been nominated to receive a good bunch of them, with JT the carryover.

I would be pissed and frustrated, too, if I'd been playing in the NBA for my 8th season and suddenly I didn't know how to guard someone without fouling them, didn't know how to get a rebound without pushing someone in the back, and didn't know how to put up a shot without committing an offensive foul (according to the refs).
