Bricklayer said:If, I think you are talking about the infamous 36-4 first quarter? We scored int hat one. In fact I think the NBA record for fewest points in a quarter is either 3 or 4. Not zero.
But of course when you are talking about totals that low, would obviously be no surprise if they were o-fers as well. Sure some national article will make a point of highlighting it vs. other all time bad quarters if its right up there.
I thought it was 47-4?! The record was 4 by a few teams I believe.
Was Phil Johnsons last game as coach. They replaced him with our own Jerry Reynolds.
Found this from a quick google search.
JAZZ 89, KINGS 79: Sacramento did not make a field goal in the fourth quarter, allowing Utah to rally for a home victory.
Andrei Kirilenko scored 14 of his 24 points in the period, when the Kings went 0 for 20 from the field and were outscored 34-12.
The last time the Kings failed to convert a field goal in a quarter was Feb. 4, 1987, against the Los Angeles Lakers. It last happened in the NBA on March 13, 2005, by the Detroit Pistons against the Jazz, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Ron Artest, who left the game early with what appeared to be a hip pointer, led Sacramento with 20 points. Mike Bibby, who had scored 40 points four times in the last 10 games, scored 15 points and shot just 4 of 16.

The Sacramento Kings managed only four points in the first quarter of a 128-92 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the fewest points in the first quarter by a team since the inception of the shot clock in 1954.
