Rick again appeared afraid that Tag could not keep up in a running game, or might not be able to guard big men out at the three point line. Comes a point though where you have to ask Rick, even if you were 100% right about Tag's limitations, how much worse could our defense possibly get if he were in there even against the most moblie of teams?

I think Adelman is afraid we won't be able to keep up at the offensive end. He worries that if we put in Tag to close up the inside and they still find a way to score, we're playing 4 on 5 at the other end. There have been games in the past with Utah (one against the Kings) where Greg stepped up and became an offensive weapon. I don't think we'll see much more of him than we have, unless he shows something in practice or a game that says we can trust him to score once in a while or at least hit a free throw.

Bibby ( A- ) -- was simply asleep out there for the first two and a half quarters of play, but woke up at the same time as Webb in the third and was off to the races therafter. He starts 3-11 from the field, and you look up a few minutes later and he's got 27 and is the leading scorer in the game. Nailed big clutch threes, but then turned around and choked more free throws. Bizarre problem he's having there, but right now he is simply not dependable from the stripe at any point of the game. Teamed with Webb to carry the team to victory down the stretch. Nice to actually have players that thrive in the clutch on the team.

I was ammused by Adelman's post-game comment that he was going to ask the NBA if Mike could start shooting his free throws from 28ft.

fair grades

i thought Cat really had a good game as well...did pick up ticky tak foul after ticky tak foul...but hey they are callin that this year harder than ever

my favorite play of the game was Cat's no look pass to a wide open Darius for the dunk...i saw it coming and it was beautiful

Chris triple double..what more can i say

Maurice Evans IMO get the game ball tonight

great game...much needed win

RA manages to get in 1 or 2 of those funny one-liners after every game...ive actually started to look for them

IMO there shouldn't be a great debate over Webb's "grade". On the one hand, he did shoot poorly, on the other, he didn't force too many shots, just missed ones he usually drops. Yes, he did get the triple, but against an inferior opponent. A superb performance against a marginal opponent doesn't make you a superstar. Show me a triple against SA - even in a loss - and I would be more impressed. Don't get me wrong, I love Webb, even during that miserable contract year summer melodrama (hell, I would have cut his lawn!) B(+)/A(-), who cares? We got the W

Whynotus. No the celtics aren't that great but as of late they had been playing well and won 5 straight home games. Now it wasn't against the Spurs or any team of that Caliber, but sadly they are 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference and it was a big win considering the horrid week we had.

haha.. good one! :D

seriously, mike should practice shooting FTs during the allstar break.. pls mike..

Adelman will never sub defense (Tag) for offense (Miller) unless forced to. But I thought he did a great job of showing some defensive innovation by dropping CWebb off of Blount to clog the middle and double Payton and Pierce when they tried to go to the hoop late in the game. Evans game (and late FT's) was clutch. CWebb another triple double, Darrius coming back to spell Webb despite being hurt were all key but statistically we had four more threes' than they did and that was the margin of victory.

excuse me mr./mrs. WhyNotUs,......just cause the triple D was against the celts doesnt deminish the fact that it was a triple frickin D!!!! no i dont think hes had one against san antonio,....but he did have one against pheonix (a triple D on marion who just happened to be picked over webb for the allstars...figger that crap out), ....he also was 1 reb and 1 ast. shy of another against the red hot sonics,.....the celts might not be the best,..but heck any NBA team can be great on any given night.

And if he had given up we'd be whining about a loss right now. Bibby was yelling at him to shoot when he's open. Adelman was yelling at him to shoot when he's open. You don't just quit because your shots aren't going, especially considering they weren't klunkers.

I wish people would quit criticizing Chris Webber for things like triple-doubles and leading the team to wins.

Yea really well said VF - what great fans the Kings have - people don't credit him for the 17 rebounds and 12 assists and instead find fault with his shoooting (which eventually is what propelled the Kings to win).
