So the FO flies to Vegas to get Vivek to fire Malone for speaking his mind. What happens when the Cornerstone of the team speaks his mind?

For all the things Vivek is or is not, he's not dumb enough to think PDA is more important than Cousins. Cousins is letting the FO and owner know in no uncertain words that he's not having this. Cousins may be picking our next coach and I trust him to do that more than PDA or Vivek.

I have always approved of peer interviewing so DeMarcus having a say in the next coach is a good thing IMO.

I continue to think the greatest need we have is a journeyman, quality starting SG, one that is a good defender, passes, moves w/o the ball, can hit the open jumper. Such a player is hard to come by but if we could get 75% of those qualities it would be a big improvement over Ben. We are not good enough to wait for Ben to get there.

Depends - if Cousins is smart enough to realize, that he still has ways to go, to become a leader and one of the best player in this league, if he realizes, that he can't shoulder the load all by himself and needs to play in a system and pass some shots to his teammates in order to run a successful NBA-offense, if he realizes, that it's not about individual statlines and ALl-Star-Merits, but about winning as a team and if he realizes, that he needs to lead by example and can't allow himself to act like a betrayed youngster anymore - than it's a good thing if he is having a say. Otherwise....not so much.

Are we sure about that? He sided with his GM over his player with regards to the coach.

AGREED!

But, I will go one step further. We may need 2 of them given that our backcourt is so weak and thin.

Or, if you do decide to speak-up, do it behind close doors in a professional and respectful manner.
I'm assuming your talking about Cousin. We don't know if he was consulted, indications are he was not. We don't know if he or his agent have spoken to the powers that be behind closed doors. If they have and were rebuked, we don't know if this is phase two.

The comments Cousin has made so far have been respectful in that you would have to know the situation to know there was something behind them. He might simply be being honest.
