Did you see that jackass over in section 103 with the Welcome to Aneheim sign wearing an Angels jersey? He ended up getting kicked out. I'm glad I wasn't sitting near him, may have been kicked out with him.

Yea, I saw him. Glad he got tossed out!

That's rediculous. You're banking on a 20 and 21 year old not improving?
Wow - where did I say that?

It's ridiculous that you can't read posts accurately.

Brick said that I was a very blind bat for stating the obvious - that the Kings have less talent than most of the NBA.
I didn't say PROMISE - I said TALENT. That means who they put out on the floor on a regular basis.
They simply can't compete with most NBA teams....... RIGHT NOW.

Next year, it is very likely that Tyreke and DMC will do better than they did this year. They are young, and yes they will likely get better.
Of course, it is also likely that they will be playing in another city next year and we may not see the gelling of this team that we've been (un)patiently waiting for these many painful years.

That's not THIS YEAR, though, which is what my post was referring to - the current reality of the Kings.

You must be about 17 years old, guessing by your insight on life expereince.
FYI, I'm 40, and have been following and going to Kings games since 1985.

But you are obviously experienced at misrepresenting people on the internet, since you've been doing it to me since I joined.
What I can't decide is whether your misreads are accidental, or purposeful.
But hey, lets only use facts when they fit our agenda.
Hey, let's do everyone a favor and quote me (point out where I said it) when you want to misrepresent what I say to fit your agenda, kay?

Glenn, and Brick -
I agree that the Kings have a lot of promise.
That's not what my post was talking about, though. Just their current reality, and the group they put on the floor that loses continually due to dumb mistakes in the last few minutes of games THIS YEAR.

If you want to talk about projecting to next year, then let's look at the roster - there are 9 spots taken up already with contracts (and the obvious re-signing of either Marcus Thornton or Jermaine Taylor) and that's not including Dalembert.
EVERY ONE OF THEM (minus Thorton) has contributed mightily to the late-game patheticness, turnover-sprees, and futile drives that lead to BADLY missed shots or rejections.

We will be missing an NBA-quality starting PF, SF, and PG (I believe the consensus opinion on the board is that the experiment of Tyreke at PG failed, right?) - the rest of the team will be backup-quality players and the only two starters are SO young and are the worst offenders of brain-dead play at the end of the games which cost the games THIS YEAR.

I'm open to arguments against my assessment of them THIS year, and my projection for next year, which is simply pointing out the holes/issues with the roster, not discounting the very likely possibility that there will be better players added through free agency, the draft, or trades and Tyreke, DMC, and Casspi's continual growth.

I don't see much likely evidence to support that JT or Donte will get significantly better at this stage in their careers, however, and certainly not in this arena - late-game mistakes.

I'm glad he was tossed too -

it's too bad freedom of speech has to be protected to this extent, because this guy (similar to the Arizona crazy church) is inciting violence and public danger similar to a person yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater, IMO.

I don't believe free speech holds up there. I believe they could have tossed him if they wanted, just because they don't like what he was doing. Doesn't have to public danger in that setting. They could have also taken his sign. They should have done that at a minimum, as a matter of fact.

You've been showing for quite a while now you're incapable of understanding what a rebuild is, what it entails, and how we have set ourselves up for the future.

In a rebuild you can't only look at this year, and ignore all speculation going forward. Players are investments, for the future. A rebuild, is for the future. We collect assets, for the future. Do I have to explain to you how a good investment gains value over time? Do I have to explain to you that you can't solely judge an investment in your own little "current reality", without looking at how that investment might pan out in the future?

Quit complaining about the obvious, and quit acting utterly shocked that a rebuilding team is struggling. I didn't misrepresent you at all. This boils down to what an NBA rebuild entails, and you haven't shown the ability to understand it for how long now?

Way to back off of what you were accusing me of.

If you want to move to the different subject of the Kings rebuild, than I'll oblige:

I have no problem with the Kings rebuild - in fact, I agree with most of Brick's assessments of the FUTURE, despite him misreading my post.
I think (if Tyreke and DMC improve and gel) the Kings are set up well for a couple positions for the FUTURE, but have holes at PF, SF, and (starting) PG (Beno's a great back-up quality PG, and makes that amount of $$, despite everyone complaining about his contract for years).

I'm not shocked that the Kings are struggling - as Glenn said, it was written on the wall in the beginning of the year with the team's salary, lack of veteran pick-ups, and the reality that Donte, JT, and Omri didn't get better.

I am patient with the Kings rebuild - unfortunately, the FANBASE is not.
And that's a fact.
And the likely scenario that another city (least of all LA!) may benefit from the pain of this rebuild and Sac will be left behind, is absolute salt on the wound of seeing them stink for 5 years.

Well, even for established vets, late game play is one of the area where players are MOST likely to improve as they get older and gain more experience. And really, it's the development of Reke and DMC that will aid that the most. They will be our two best players who will have the highest Usage, even in late game situations, so their improvement will make the biggest impact.

A lot of the other players on the roster are fairly fungible role players and a lot of their improvement will come from being asked to do less. This doesn't mean they will get less touches. As our core stars learn to share in the final 3 minutes as they do in the first 45, our role players will get more shots and straight line drives at the end of games. However, the less we have to rely on players like Beno, Casspi, etc. to create more offense than they are capable of, the better off we will be.

Considering it is a private establishment, I don't believe that "free speech" comes into consideration. The man is certainly entitled to wear that shirt on the sidewalk as part of his first amendment protection. However, in Arco, the Maloofs have the right to set the standards for what they will and won't allow (as long as they don't violate minimum standards of protection such as discrimination law).

Correct, this is a pet peeve of mine that many people do not understand it. Freedom of speech is between the government and the people not between it's citizens.

Exactly, freedom of speech is not the same as freedom from all consequences for your speech. It simply means the government cannot oppress or hurt you based off of your words (unless they constitute a threat of violence or imminently endanger the public like the famous shouting fire in a public place).

However, if you walk into work tomorrow and start saying very racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. things and think the first amendment will protect you from being fired. You are going to be very disappointed and unemployed.

I’m a big fan of Donte, but the problem that I see with him is his desire. He needs to play with more passion and urgency. I said this about Quincy, and this might not be a good example for some people but, Quincy really needed to come into the game with a certain intensity and he never really did that. You never really saw that feeling or emotion when he was on the court and I feel that a lot of the times, Donte needs to create that fire, because when he does he’s a really good/great player.

I don’t entirely blame him for his lack of success this year, considering that our Coach pulls his chains – plays one game and not the next, plays well in one half and doesn’t see the next, etc.

Things that both Donte and (especially) Omri really need to do is, working on their ball handling skills this summer. And Donte needs to take some of Casspi’s intensity and apply it to his game.

We need to be running more fast breaks and alley-oops. We have to really good runners – Donte and Omri and now add in Thornton (not sure about his bounce) and we should be tossing them the ball when they’re already near the bucket. You know how many times Beno could just toss something up for Donte and have him slam it. The only player that really takes advantage of that is Pooh. He sees Donte up the floor and throws one to him. Get him involved and see his game change.
