First game of the season starts in 10 minutes. They just resigned Ramirez for 4 years.

This is the year!!! Next year is here. If Red Sox can do it so can we :)

Go Cubs!!!!!

I never want to talk to you again :) Just kidding ofcourse.

It is pretty cool that we have Derek Lee and Dusty Baker, 2 of Sac's finest here :) I always wanted to go a Cubs game, wearing my Kings jersey and try to get their attention, but I could never get seats that close. It is a pretty well known fact that they are both big Kings fans.

i'm glad dusty is gone, after his "brilliant" managing in the last 2 games of the 02 WS, good riddance. he won't be screwing the giants up anymore.

that would be cool of you vj9999 if you got their attention with your kings jersey. try going in BP, go right when the park opens. go down to the front row ( they allow people to go whereever they want in BP, well in SF they do) and stand by the cubs dugout, be like GO KINGS!!! GO KINGS!!!! maybe that will work :)

i hope one day to watch the giants play the cubs in wrigley, i really want to go to that staduim. i've heard so many stories about it, i just have to experience it.

Or are we not even allowed to talk American league baseball around here...

I know nothing about National league teams...
You can talk about any team you want, but you may not get anyone to chat with you. :p The key, though, is to start your own thread, i.e. get out of the Cubs thread. ;)

yeah i was just joshin around..im not really interested in starting a Yankees thread...

I have no problems with the Cubs I hope they finally break their curse and win a World Series one of these days...hey if the Red Sox can win a WS then ANYTHING is possible

this sucks... but to be fair the guy was hitting .157... he was horrible this season. his defense was awful too. but man this does suck. a player like that would break out of the slump, and not having nomar means we gotta pull deep into our bench. hopefully walker isn't out an extended period of time.

Oh we SO need a couple of decent closers! Grrrrrr!!!!!!! I missed the game yesterday, but I was happy to see us win against the Pirates. I'm just happy baseball season has returned. I was suffering some severe withdrawal!!

Did they send him to the minors?

I heard on Sports Center this morning that Nomar will have surgery. He actually hopes to be back this year. The Cubs are paying him a lot of money to be injured. Wonder if they'll ever get much playing time out of him.

No. He actually pitched in the 8th last night. Borowski should be back soon too, but I don't know if that makes me much more confdent (especially considering he is always injured)

Derek Lee is awesome. I went to highschool with the guy, so its way cool to see him becoming a star in the league. Go A's but go Cubbies too.

He is having an unbelievable April.

He is leading the NL in batting avg (.430), homeruns (7) and RBIs (27). Actually I just looked at stats and he has the best batting avg and RBIs in both leagues.

i can't believe i took helton instead of him in my draft... i just kept saying to myself "he sucks in april and helton plays at coors" and now im kicking myself. damn it...
