That Rose dunk over Ratliff was impressive, especially considering Ratliff's reputation as a shotblocker.4cwebb said:I was listening...Raefer and Rose led a huge comeback for the Raptors in the 4th quarter with Vince on the bench, but the Raptors couldn't close the deal and lost the game down the stretch.
If I were a Mavs fan I'd might be as concerned as I was last year with the Kings. Lets call a spade a spade and make note of the Mavs fairly kind shed.miles berg said:Dirk had 31/7/7/4 against the Nets in a win and followed it up with 32/13/5 against the Wizards in a win.
We are 7-1 and our next game is against the Suns on Tuesday night. Nash v Nowitzki, the friendly version of Shaq v Kobe. Should be fun.
this is gonna be dirk's big break out year, i think. he's gonna be in the mvp runnings for sure. he's playing at the top of his game, and recognizes that he has to pick up more of the slack now that nash is gona and finley is injured. the guy is playing with a will. he's friggin unstoppable. i dont look forward to our next game against the mavs.ReinadelosReys said:If I were a Mavs fan I'd might be as concerned as I was last year with the Kings. But Dirk is playing out of his mind.
He finally had one summer off. I think this is the main reason...this is gonna be dirk's big break out year, i think. he's gonna be in the mvp runnings for sure. he's playing at the top of his game, and recognizes that he has to pick up more of the slack now that nash is gona and finley is injured.
damn he's good. i'll probably get flamed for this, but i wanna say that it is much more sensible to think of dirk nowitzki as the next "larry bird" rather than peja stojakovic. dirk's just so much more versatile. he's a real scary talent.Bricklayer said:Dirk's numbers =

early, but those are legit MVP numbers. Leading the hottest team in the league right now.

Last year Dallas started 15-12 and never fully got going until Nellie turned to small ball by putting Daniels into the starting lineup and moving Walker to center. That style worked in the regular season at home but in the playoffs it was proven ineffective.
This year Dallas won't have to go the small ball route, though, with Dampier anchoring the middle. It will be interesting to see how Nellie distributes minutes at the 2/3 spots when all four of his players (Finley, Stackhouse, Daniels and Howard) are healthy.miles berg said:Last year Dallas started 15-12 and never fully got going until Nellie turned to small ball by putting Daniels into the starting lineup and moving Walker to center.
