I'm supposed to be working.

Instead I was sitting here, totally enthralled by some of the best basketball I've ever seen by a team with "Sacramento" on the front of their jerseys.

That was an awesome display and I'm very proud of the Monarchs!

Whoooot!!!!!

It was totally awesome. And once again, the Monarchs show that playing as a team outweighs individual talent/stars. And great job, tonight, Coach Whiz!:D

KEEP IT ROLLIN' MONARCHS!!

Most points; most made baskets; most 3 pointers in a playoff game. Those are the ones I remember. (Team)

Oh most points in a half, playoffs.

ESPN says the Shock set a playoff record, too. 24 TOs. ;)

This comes courtesy of another Board

But too funny to pass on...

Welcome to Café Sacramento tonight for dinner!

Let me tell you about the 3-course meal that we are featuring tonight.

Course #1 - Tonight you will dine on the used-to-be tough Houston Comets featuring a heavily sautéed and highly tenderized old *** team with a side of Mississippi mispronunciations. They used to be tough, but here at Cafe Sacramento, we have beaten them down with a tenderizer so that you will not be able to recognize them and served them up with a side of your-championships-were-so-long-ago-that-no-one-remembers sauce. You will be able to swallow this dish whole without ever noticing that you ate anything. However, this is a lovely start to your meal here at Café Sacramento. It will whet your appetite for the second course.

For your next Course - #2 - We will be serving the Los Angeles Sparks with an elbow-throwing, I-never-foul disappearing in the playoffs reduction sauce called LLL. This will be complimented by a side dish that is comprised of a Jelly Bean and a funky attitude. Again, you will hardly break a sweat consuming this course, but it will make you hungry for the final one.

The final Course - #3 – This course will last longer than the first two but it will be worth it. Your pallet will be splashed with a main dish consisting of a useless Amazing Woman coupled a Once MVP That Dismantled Lisa Leslie’s Hair in the 2003 Finals who was ineffective tonight. While this course is far from over, here at Café Sacramento, we are confident that when you will complete your meal on Saturday, September 9, that you will be extremely satisfied.

Thank you for choosing Café Sacramento!
Bon appetite!!!

Man is that not funny and I don't think this is not a Monarchs fan either.

1 down, 2 to go.

If you're going to encourage him 6th, I hereby relinquish all responsibility for whatever happens on his next visit here to you. Remember, he and Slug never hooked up this time around, so I got off lightly. You on the otherhand may have your hands full if they end up is closer proximity than they were in May. I will turn over my releases of liability and waiver documents to you... ;)

I saw that piece on Rebkell, don't think it was a Monarchs fan either, which makes it all the funnier. C'mon ladies...close out this roady strong and come home to ARCO.

Wow, now I kind of wished my friends and I had gotten tickets to Sunday's game instead of Wed., as it looks like that one isn't going to happen now! Rats, I really wanted to see them bring it on then and win. Kind of weird when you hope your team doesn't sweep the series, I know.

Anyone know what will happen with our tiks should they win it all Sunday? Do we get a refund?

Free Tickets at The Palace of Auburn Hills

An excerpt from his morning's Detroit Free Press.....

FREE TICKETS: Lennox purchased 1,000 tickets for Friday’s Game 2 and will donate them to the first 500 fans who call 248-377-0100 starting at 8:30 a.m. If you get through, give the password “Finals.”

Embarassing

Which Lennox were they referring to? Betty Lennox? Annie Lennox? Retired boxer Lennox Lewis? Or the Lennox air-conditioning and heating systems company?

Wow-they still have trouble filling in those seats in Detroit, huh? I didn't think it was a problem anymore.

According to the box score from ESPN's website, the attendance for Game #1 was 9,581. But after watching it on TV, it seemed a lot less. I saw quite a few empty seats, even in the "good" areas. Maybe it's because Detroit's The Palace arena is very large, or I was watching it on a plasma TV. :D

But it's still a far cry from the 22,000 who attended the 2003 WNBA Finals game when the Shock beat the Sparks to win their championship.

Anyway, let's hope we can jam-pack Arco on Game #3 on Sunday! It's a weekend, so there's no excuse for any local Monarch fan not going! :)

I had read somewhere the game at Arco is close to a sell-out. That along with the comp tickets the Maloofs gave to employee's, which I made sure are going to good use. Mom,Dad, Aunt & friend. Doesn't matter to me, as long as we have the house full & loud!!

We can do it again!

I am making a poster like last year to cheer us on for Sunday! We run this! If they win Friday, I am looking to bring in a bunch of wisk brooms and dust pans and shout "clean sweep!"
