From Grant's show...

He is a natural leader. He is calm but his voice is full of authority at the same time. He has a rare ability to install trust in others immediately.

I wouldn't care if the GM was channeling Woody Allen if he could put a winning team together. Screw acting the part, I want results.

I mean its blatantly obvious that Vlade wanted Karl gone and minority ownership axed it. Honestly can't tell who was right in that situation though. If you're with Vlade your basically supporting everything that Vivek has done wrong so far. At the same time you can't say Karl doesn't deserve to be let go. Just an absolute mess.

Vlade did say that he is the guy, and that he has full authority to make whatever move he wants to make.

I mean, is it?

Or is that just us doing the speculation circle again?

And I still wonder how minority ownership is supposed to be effecting anything. Aside from whatever perks are in their ownership contracts I think Vivek could walk up and pee in their beer and there is not a thing they could do about it except complain.

We may be seeing the true downside to Vlade as GM -- his inherent Petreiness. He's a smoother outer. He's all about the stable, the smooth, the friendly, not the sharp, the erratic, the instability. You would expect him to be slow to fire and to give everything time if he can. He would be out of step with the fanbase, but that might be a good thing given how really rocky and confused they are. Keeping Karl MAY not have been his idea, but it certainly is the sort of move that falls within his potential ouerve.

I didn't think it was blatantly obvious Vlade wanted Karl gone. Maybe he did, but maybe he didn't. No way to know.

I thought that too, but Sam Amick wrote that they can because of the amount of money that the kings own Karl.

Karl is known to be owed approximately $10 million on his contract. A move with that large of a price tag means the team's minority owners would have to be involved in the decision, as it would potentially require a capital call from investors beyond Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadive

I'm a bit confused why it would involved a capital call unless they bought him out? You fire your coach, you normally keep on paying him just as you have. George Karl fired today costs you no more than George Karl still coaching today. All the extra expense comes when you hire the next coach to replace him. And if its an interim for the rest of the year, that would probably be less than $1 million.

Maybe Karl put in something in his contract to bend just this situation in his favor?

DID GRANT JUST SAY COUSINS WAS NOT A SUPERSTAR?!?

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl

I have no idea. Note how he said that a Capital Call is "potentielly"needed, so he "potentielly" isnt quit sure himself :p

I love Boog but you can't name me a single superstar that has never made the playoffs in their career. And I'm not talking about barely missing the playoffs. I'm talking about never even being in contention by time the all star break hits.

I think his numbers say superstar, but I am a firm believer that more needs to be done to be one. For example, I never considered Love to be a superstar. Just a high level all star.

People thought Kevin Love was a superstar. Then he was put on a good team, and his talent level was truly displayed.

Name me a superstar in the last 10 years who has had a worse run of coaches, teammates, front offices?

Superstar is a press/PR/perception status. Anthony Davis was quickly made a superstar, but only has one playoff season to his name. His superstar status came before that ever happened.

Anthony Davis made the playoffs last year. Do you think there's a reason we barely hear his name anymore? Last year people were talking about him as an MVP candidate. This year not even close. Yeah he has been injured a little bit (still has played 45 games so far), but he's putting up almost identical numbers to last year.

Cause last year he fought his team into the playoffs. You guys should know only playoff contenders get put up for MVP contention by now.

Boogie hasn't made the playoffs YET. His career is far from over.

Grant was 100 percent on point in his opening monologue. Karl and Cousins are both combined killing this team. Karl has been doing a bad job but Cousins lack of professionalism is toxic as well. Like I said, get rid of BOTH.
Cousins needs to get over some of this stuff, but can you REALLY say "get rid of him" after he gave his ALL for our previous head coach and they canned him for no reason?

We don't know all the details. Way too many people are jumping to conclusions on incomplete information. It might have been that Rudy didn't really think he COULD play effectively and Rondo convinced him otherwise. Why do people ALWAYS find a way to jump to a negative conclusion.

Vlade on KHTK NOW!
i dont see how Rondo can convince Rudy that his body is just fine or otherwise. Thats something only Rudy could know. Sounds a bit strange

getting Cousins in the damn low post consistently, early and often, would be a nice change of pace. lets do that first

Maybe Rudy wasn't 100% (didn't look like it to me) and maybe thought he would do more harm than help. Rondo convinced him otherwise. Nothing to see here. Except maybe for those looking for more negativity to add to the Kings bashing.
