From Grant's show...

Vlade will be calling in to Grant's show shortly. Regardless of how I feel about Grant, this is one segment I cannot wait to hear.

Rudy not wanting to play is disgusting. Ship this guy out.

We don't know all the details. Way too many people are jumping to conclusions on incomplete information. It might have been that Rudy didn't really think he COULD play effectively and Rondo convinced him otherwise. Why do people ALWAYS find a way to jump to a negative conclusion.

Vlade on KHTK NOW!

Vlade says he has full authority to make decisions and it was his decision to retain George Karl. "It's not the first time we've been dealing with this..."

Why were discussions held to fire Karl?

Vlade kind of sidestepped the "firing" part but said he and George talked today and defense MUST improve. Vlade says he's not happy about the defense and "coach said he's disappointed"...

I can't type quickly enough to get all this stuff but Vlade is DEFINITELY in charge and IMHO George is on a very short leash.

He didn't kind of sidestepped the firing part. He didn't answer the question. Then later said he had been thinking about "it" for the last couple of days (so the reports were accurate) and then made the decision (to keep Karl).

When Vlade says something, I believe it. Why? I don't know but that's just the way it is.

Because he has no reason to lie. He already showed us his heart and now he's showing us he understands and he'll do what it takes to make things better.

Whatever. You try interpreting and typing as something is being said.

That was a whole lot of nothing. Everybody is to blame. Blah blah blah. I noticed that he mentioned "next season." Said he wasn't just thinking about this season. Also, he's looking for defensive help, but that's not a surprise. I noticed Grant didn't try to pin him down on a timeline, and then ask him why they had left Karl twisting in the wind.

Reality check:
Everyone's going to simply expect the players to inexplicably make this flawed defensive scheme (that switches to cause mismatches and leave 3 pt shooters open) work, and if they can't, it will be all the players fault. (?!)

Vlade requires Karl to change the ineffective defense. Well, how can he do that at this point? He has no training camp, and few practices to do anything different.

What does the world really expect Karl to coach differently? What exactly is supposed to change?
And if Karl DOESN'T immediately implement a different defensive scheme, isn't he actively defying Vlade's demand?

I guarantee you, everyone will drop the ball on this situation, and start blaming the players en masse for "not putting in enough defensive effort" (into this anachronistic, inappropriate defensive scheme).

Just a whole lot of wishful thinking honestly.

I don't have any animosity towards Karl It's just clear he isn't able to coach anymore to the standard he used too, whatever you think of his system or methods.

I don't understand how Vlade and whoever else can't see that this situation is simply untenable at this point.
