Cuttino and Mike are both too good of shooters to be shooting under 80% from the line. and Mike is only shooting 77% from the line
Free throw shooting is a problem the kings are going to have now with kenny struglling and skinner being a below 45% shooter.
I don't know what everyone else thinks but every kid I coach I tell them anything less than 75% is not acceptable. and for the really good shooters anything less than 80% is not acceptable.
free throw shooting since the webber trade has been around 60-65%
Does anyone remember that bibby 2 years ago hit something like 35 (or more) free throws in a row? I cannot remember the exact amount but I know it was over 30.
Mike is my personal biggest problem as a free throw shooter. Especially since he is probably my favorite kings player. with how good he shoots the ball, and how good he shoots the ball under pressure situations, he should be an 85-90% free throw shooter.
why is mike rushing to shoot FTs? he seems uncomfortable at the line. just today when he was at the line to shoot 2 he was like "let's go, let's go, let's go!" i don't know. weird. but i'm sure mike will fix this problem. he's too good to be shooting only 77% of his FTs.
i remember watching Mike in the shoot around before the game in Boston...shooting FTs...and this was during time that he had his horrible stints from FT line...so i was specifically watching him shoot..
he hit all of them
::shrugs::
he's been much better since after the all star break...so im not goona hoot and holler about it
yes it should be addressed, well even if it is...we choke in the playoffs no matter what, just know if a guy has a kings jersey on and is shooting free throws in the playoffs, it probably wont go in...especially game sevens
If it remains a problem sure, but the worst thing to do to guys after a loss is jump them for what might only be a one day deal... Mike ought to be practing his FT stroke.
