You and I have been saying the same thing the entire time. Which scares me...because it makes TOO MUCH sense.

Do you notice the smart teams, Spurs, GSW, Cleveland have not made all these outrageous contracts to mid-tier Free Agents.

They are waiting it out and will pick up some smart Free Agent bargains after a week or two.

I think it is best to wait until the dust settles and pay players what they are worth, rather than overpaying just because you have cap space.

Please, Vlade, DON'T Panic. Please don't get caught up in this absurd spending and wait it out and spend wisely!!!

Bad contracts will handcuff teams for years to come, especially small market teams.

With Crabbe, these should be our FA targets anyway to fit around Cousins. I do think Crabbe is totally realistic too with Howard off the board for Portland and still needing a big for a S&T

I always thought he was going to Atlanta -- they have a need at C, he's from Atlanta, and he's not getting a lot of interest elsewhere. There hasn't been much talk about Al Horford in general. Maybe he won't even come in for an interview, but we should at least try to see if he'd be interested. If we do manage to get Horford's interest, we could move Koufos to create some more cap space because we wouldn't need him anyway at that point. I don't see how it could possibly be hard to move Koufos at $8 million a year when Mozgov just signed for twice that.

Forgot about Millsap...

He has always struck me as a forward who can play both positions, so perhaps they move him to SF, bring back Bazemore to play SG which might be a nearer fit for his size, and Horford in at PF.

Actually, no. Ellis is considerably worse than Gay as a shooter. It doesn't make sense on any level. We would be moving him to PG in which case we've come full circle and ended up with the poor man's Isaiah Thomas. But on the bright side, he makes the inevitable Dion Waiters signing look a little better in comparison.
