Two years, $10.7M for Ben McLemore in Memphis (@Chris Haynes first).
Good luck to a good dude!
I always wonder where he'd be if we stuck it out with Malone, Ben was really developing nicely for him.
???? I never saw any development from Ben.. He just wasn't very good and the one thing he could have been good at he was too streaky. A player like Ben will most likely be out of the league after this contract. He would be a 13th man on most teams.
Ben is finalizing a deal with Memphis
He was starting to show some nice 3 and D potential after being a complete liability.
You did kinda have to squint though...
Great signing for them... The West gets better and better.Paul Milsap agreed to a 3 year $90 million deal with the Nuggets
Was it a great signing? This means they wont be able to keep harris and jokic might lose both unless they clear spaceGreat signing for them... The West gets better and better.
The Wizards have to look at everything from the perspective of keeping Wall, we don't. They offered him an extension and he is taking the wait and see approach. Wizard fans know they are between a rock and a hard place due to Ernie Grunfeld handing out some bad contracts. They can only even afford to keep Porter because they drafted him. So letting him walk doesn't help them sign a good replacement.I watched several of the Wizards/Celtics playoff games, and don't remember Porter sticking out......then I read this from a Wizards fan, and it has me a bit worried (sort of verifying my memory):
"Is it possible for the Wiz to trade Porter and get something decent in return? There was some question that Beal was not worth a max contract last year. But, the Wiz have been so bad over the years, they pretty much had to give Beal anything he wanted. A max contract for Porter? They could have resigned him last season, but there was some question in the Wiz organization about whether they would keep Porter much longer. He is not good enough to help the Wiz reach the next level. Why pay him all that money. He has had three or four years to show he is a max player and has not done it. His performance in the playoffs was average overall. Not great, not bad. Just another guy out there who makes the occasional good play. Leonsis will not pay the luxury tax. Why waste all that salary cap money on Wall, Beal and Porter when the Wiz are at least two good starters and at least two good reserves away from being a real contender.
Granted I haven't followed Porter enough to be a good judge......but anyway.

On the other hand, they have to hope he continues to improve if they lock him up. They are hamstrung. Most of their fans want to keep him, just for as cheap as possible. If they lose him, they have to figure out how to move some ugly contracts to try and lure Boogie or someone else in the future.
Also, it is pretty minor, but Wall kind of threw a little shade at Porter recently when openly making a pitch for the Wizards to go after PG. 99% likely Porter took no offense. But he may have.
At that age and that money?Great signing for them... The West gets better and better.
Three years, he'll be good for the next two at least. It was him or Gallinari, let's see what Gallinari gets and compare. At that age and that money?![]()
What concerns me are observations that question his potential.....from fans who obviously watch more Wizards games than we do. And this mixed with a big contract is compounding it a bit. Anyway....
No, I absolutely understand what your saying. What concerns me are observations that question his potential.....from fans who obviously watch more Wizards games than we do. And this mixed with a big contract is compounding it a bit. Anyway....
He is 32 years old. Very good player but basically for $30 million per season for 3 years is a heck of price to pay for him. I could understand the dollar component of the deal if it was a 2 year deal (i.e. compensate them with $$$ for the lack of deal length) but this is 3 years at that price. Hell of a price to pay for a guy who is about to decline and is past his prime.Three years, he'll be good for the next two at least. I think it's a good deal for that team... He's gonna make them better than they would've been with Gallinari. They'll make the playoffs the next couple seasons at least... Doing more than that in the West at this point in time is asking a lot. A team like Denver that's already acquired and developed some young talent really can't do anything else but compete for the time being... Imo Millsap will help them do that, he's still a really good player. He is 32 years old. Very good player but basically for $30 million per season for 3 years is a heck of price to pay for him. 3rd year is a team option. Great deal for Denver. I would have taken that if we did it.At that age and that money?![]()
Fans are quite possibly the WORST reference when you're trying to judge a player with whom you are not familiar.
I'm much more interested in Shabazz than Bojan at that price.Shabazz Mohammed is now a UFA when Minny pulled the QO. Might be of interest at some point if we whiff on Porter and others
Thibs doing it in minny. Why not? I'm thinking zbo though. Older and fine with a bench role.Get as much of the band bck together tht are familiar w/joeger's system
