This is his last max the spurs know he’s not entertaining taking less
They absolutely should push him to take the same type of near max extension Domas got and I don't think Fox is in the position to say no. It's still a huge contract but since it isn't tied to 30% of the cap Domas's final year is projected to be 26-27% of the cap. Keep in mind Fox blew up his team to get there and they didn't have to give up much as a result, it's completely different than Fox having his homegrown team by the balls trying to retain drafted talent like we were in. There will be no shortage of players of Fox's ability willing to come be Wemby's wingman and they have to make sound financial moves if they want to leap OKC and Houston - and apparently now the Luka Lakers. They have a once a decade pre-anointed player and the expectation is rings.

also if Paul wants Wemby as a client and gets Fox to take team friendly terms I am sure that him bringing on other clients at a discount will be a selling point to Vic, who 100% will be getting supermax deals.

DOWN A HALLWAY adjacent to the San Antonio Spurs' locker room at Frost Bank Center, De'Aaron Fox pumped iron alone, long after all his new teammates had gone home for the night. As midnight approached, Fox needed one more figurative lift. This would involve finally pushing off his shoulders the weight of the former world he once ruled with the Sacramento Kings during the reign he never wanted to end. "I truly wanted to play for one team my whole career," Fox told ESPN.

no wonder Fox has so many up and down games. lifting weights close to midnight isn't good for any individual, your circadian rhythms are all out of sync at that point
Dude already has two toddlers at home so I can’t imagine it’s THAT worse for him.

Man, nothing is funnier than watching the Sacramento local media ride HARD for Fox. So far this morning, I have heard Carmichael Dave, Jason Ross, and Allen Stiles, as well as quasi "media" like Matt George practically beg fans not to boo Fox by cherry picking what they want from the fluff piece article in The Athletic. How about Fox saying he had no list and would only play for the Spurs and didn't care what that did to the Kings? How about outing former teammates for not being sold on Brown (and having those teammates turn out to be right)? And why do our local media clowns care SO much about how we fans react? Because Fox dapped them up once? Because Fox sat for an interview with them?

I can't wait to boo Fox. I can't wait to cheer Barnes long and loud, to really emphasize that Sac loves their own, and that we ride long and loud for the people who show us some love and respect not just while they are here, but on their way out. And I can't wait for Dave, and Stiles, and Matt George to clutch their pearls!!!

It’s wild because no one has tried to get De’Aaron’s traded for longer than Carmichael Dave did.

Kings twitter remains an absolute cesspool of weirdos lol

“Trade Domas and Malik because they hurt De’Aaron’s feelings!”
Remind me of each team's respective record, the Kings record since the Brown decision, the Spurs record since acquiring Fox, and the relative stability wrt each franchise's coaching situation please.

Definitely fire our FO and trade our good players!

Most of the guys the Fox family curried favor with felt shunned by FO and carrying water for a former player at the expense of a team that happens to be in the middle of a playoff race for only the 3rd time most of them have been media is definitely not going to improve the quality of the buffet in the media room.

Fox's story is just being written but needs to be said that Zach wasn't drafted by the Bulls, he did once sign a contract with Sac, and the Bulls have drafted not only multiple hall of famers but many top 50, and at least one legitimate GOAT so it's somewhat natural they may spurn LaVine.

You know who else is in that category of team? The Spurs. Good luck to Mr. Fox if things turn sour in San Antone.

To the extent that there is a "front office" problem with the Kings fostering "instability" and the like, that problem is Vivek, who of course can't be fired.

I don't know Vivek, and generally don't go around carrying water for billionaires, he's had plenty of missteps especially between when he assumed control and ~2017. But even under Vlade he seemed to hand basketball decisions over to the "basketball guys".

He's moved into the middle tier of just boring check signer for me but maybe I've missed something drastic he has done since Monte and Wes took over. Setting his kids up to one day succeed him is not something I count as a negative because that's what all business owners do when their kids show interest.

My final takeaway is the Kings don't talk to reporters, agents do. Do the math on this whole thing. What happened happened. Any armchair detective can figure this out and where ALL of this was being bled into the media from.

So many inconsistencies if these quotes are real. Basically said "I didn't ask for a trade but when I did..." Someone take the shovel out of this dudes hands please. Fox has every right to call it a day after 8 years, but he needs to just own his part of it. Champions don't make excuses even if some are valid.
As long as the players still here are happy and the current vibes aren't just a facade I am going to continue laughing all this off.
