He's in the Hall of Fame and finished top 10 in MVP voting for 5 straight seasons (peaking at 4th in 2001). I would call that close enough.

The second part is your interpretation of events which obviously fits the narrative that you've chosen to believe in, perhaps because it's easier to blame the player than to blame the organization. Everyone outside of the Kings fan/media bubble has a different narrative and there are several decades of experience to back it up.
Rich Paul came out and said it. And I would say it's been in the works since before the start of the season. Foxes were spotted house hunting in San Antonio during the break. I don't think we need to be charitable to them anymore.

It's not against the law to choose your employer. The part I take issue with is the idea that he was waiting to sign a supermax with the Kings and then demand a trade.

Ok that's fair, and no it's not against the law to choose your employer, but I do believe NBA players should honor their contracts and he quit on us two seasons early. It was heartbreaking to me and I am probably never going to forgive him. It will be post-retirement if I do.

LMAO…. Fox is going to play himself out of the regular max contract the way he’s been playing in SA. SA has a smart front office, I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to low ball him into giving them a hometown discount. :p

He would had been better off staying with the Kings who designed the whole team around him to make him look good. :p
They absolutely should ask him to accept the sort of deal that Sabonis took here. They are roughly the same caliber of player. Right on the edge of the top 20. Deserve roughly the same salary. Most of them can hang on and get the max as a cap % but a smart team will ask them to take a similar amount that isn't tied to the cap so that if there is a cap bump the team can take advantage of it.

Carmicheal Dave and crew on his morning show being critical of fans who booed last night when the upcoming Spurs game was promoted on the big screen. I think fans need to fan however they want without the criticism on this one. Enough things have been said by the Fox/Rich Paul camp that people are going to voice their displeasure.
And him being critical of the dysfunction of the organization can take a back seat for that night. Fox has been front and center and in the middle of the dysfunction. Organization moved Haliburton because Fox wouldn’t make it work, gave h8m an all-star center, signed his best friend who flourished here, re-upped with his head coach in Brown (unless that’s false) signed a future first ballot hall of famer. That doesn’t sound that dysfunctional although there certainly has been issues.

No, for many of the fan base, Fox and agent quit on the org and torpedoed the season all while trying to be the Supermax guy while taking games and quarters off in games. I hope they boo him loudly while cheering HB
Buckle up, cuz I’m almost certain people are going to be going on and on about how “classless” this fan base is, without understanding everything that went on. They won’t care about context unfortunately smh but i wouldn’t boo him, personally. I still think he mostly did the best he could do up until this season lol

I hope the fans boo him as loud as possible. He was fake loyal, fake tough, and when he couldn’t achieve his goals in spite of the org making huge decisions to clear the way for him, he runs off. There’s no narrative here other than what his agent confirmed for us. Hope the Spurs take just as long as we did to figure out who he really is

You're stating the obvious. Everyone, including you, has an opinion of events and that's what they believe. No kidding.

I think most of us realize that anyone who doesn't follow this team closely, generally has a very different view of the team and players than the fans who do follow close. That goes for most any team, especially the smaller market teams who do not get the benefit of national media exposure

The franchise could help itself by NOT producing a Fox highlight package to honor him before this game. Hopefully they got that message with the scoreboard pic last night. The time for such a package will happen, but not a month and change after he forced his way out of town.
I'm of the opposite opinion. It will be amiss to give it a skip after all these years. He did give us some good years. Might as well get it over with. What other time would be better? He will get a mixed reaction. It is what it is.

Yeaaah I’m on your side with this, although i feel like they’ll be damned if they do or don’t. Fox has put them in a tough spot more than once this season smh

It's not a tough spot really. Kings just have to do their part like any other team in the NBA. There's no point in waiting for a perfect time that may never come. The backlash if they did not put together a highlight package would be worse and will be an unnecessary distraction that can be easily avoided.

He’s getting the full max even if he plays and doesn’t score a single point from now on

When he's on his retirement tour.

I don't see a point doing it a month after he did what he did. To me that's a sign of a weak org. I bet the Spurs didn't do a highlight package for Kawhi his first game back.

You’re right, honestly. I believe they’ll do it

I am trying to think of a similar trade of a player leaving his club because he was willing to do so but can't think of any apart from AD that was also a "Klutch" thing. From "google" I found out that even though he was traded during offseason he didn't get a tribute video and was frustrated about it watching other teammates (Lonny Walker is mentioned) getting one from their former teams.

He got his video today (AD i mean) but he wasn't moved that much, I think they saw Lebron crying at that moment but I am not sure. AD was wearing sunglasses but obviously didn't seem to be crying or anything like that.

I think it’s well known amongst players how passionate the fan base is. Play hard for the franchise, say the right things, act like you appreciate the support and be a professional and Kings fans will have a place in their hearts for a player for a long, long time.
Fox and his wife misses the mark on several of these. Look at how Buddy Hield is treated when he comes back. He said some not so flattering things on the way out and he’s boo’d constantly. HB will get a good to great ovation. Huerter will get a solid ovation. Fox turned his back on the organization and in turn, the fan base.

It’s possible they asked him to take his foot off the gas too. They are so far out of the play in they are probably soft tanking. I don’t think they are going to be able to fall much further down though.

If they want him to take his feet off they would tell him to get his surgery. Why isn't he getting his surgery? Seriously if he plays the game vs the Kings from when Wemby went out that's like an extra 3 weeks to his recovery. What if the timetable is longer than expected? Gross negligence. But they probably don't care because they gave up little of consequence to get him (unless Wemby suddenly has long term health issues) and maybe can squeeze him on his contract because of this run of form.
