Fox vs. Trae Young

kb02

All-Star
I am going to miss most of this game live, but am planning to watch all of it on LP tonight.

I hope Fox is 100% healthy. If he is, my prediction is Fox significantly outplays Young. Young will get his points and assists, because of the pace of the game, but when it matters, Fox will stuff him. Fox is simply a bad match up Young--quicker, longer, more athletic. We'll see.

Trae is really really skilled. I had my doubts but the shooting and playmaking is for real. I bet on Fox out playing him, but if he gets hot the Hawks could be dangerous.

I wonder if the officials will get whistle happy against Fox since he likes to pressure full court, a rarity among guards now a days

This is my worry. Our advantage is our bigs. We need to go inside to WCS and Bagley. Let’s hope Fox doesn’t get dragged into a man on man battle.

I hear you but we have been avoiding hero/iso ball really well this year. In fact I cannot remember a stretch where we fell into it for prolonged periods. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

DeArron Fox is eating him (Trae Young) up like a prime steak

Pre-draft, there were a vocal minority who wanted to trade Fox and pick Trae Young.

Fox didn’t look like the second coming at the time and I think Young will be a great player. I believe most of the trade Fox was to come out with Young/Doncic

Trae played pretty well. He's a rookie though so he has his growing pains. The one thing I like about Young (since college) is that he is not afraid to take the team on his shoulders and not afraid to be the man. I think he's going to be an allstar in the coming years.

Well that's the main gist of it. It's about having trust in your coaching staff and management to develop these players and having the foresight of the player that they will become. If you expect every player to look like the second coming immediately then you better hope you have a crystal ball. These players are all 19-20 yo so what they are as a rookie is not what they're going to be for the rest of their career. There were people here who was willing to trade fox straight up for Young and Colin Sexton before the draft. It's basically instant gratification but you're basically wanting to trade for another young unproven rookie who will go through the same growing pain .

So would you still trade fox for young??

In the 3rd I was screaming at Fox (because he can hear me through my TV) that he needed to think about the friends and family of Hawks players that were doubtless in the stands.

This thread is shameful. We needn't gloat.

Fox is too nasty. Toooooo nasty!
Hahaha, well played sir, well played. There are children DeAaron, dammit!

If there is a type of guard Trae will struggle against it will be the Fox/Jrue Holiday the big/physical smart defenders, Fox went full bulldog on him.
