Fire Geoff Petrie

I think that was to get over the minimum cap...

What organization is going to PUBLICLY announce that you are going to keep a low payroll and try to move the team to Anaheim????!!!

A lot of armchair quarterbacking going on here... He's not perfect but he's also made good moves too.

Is this the 6th consecutive year we're going to be in the lottery? Being a GM takes more than just putting "talent" on a team.

Remember when we offered Sammy more money than any team and he still didn't want to come back? And how Petrie and Westphal mishandled that entire situation leading him to leave?

The money was available from the Maloofs. Petrie was the one who messed it up.

If Sammy was offered the most money and he still didn't want to stay, then what can you do? Lock him up in a room and torture him? Looks like Sammy had his mind on leaving.

That insists money isn't the issue then. The structure of the roster is. The management of personnel. The handing of the contract situation.

Petrie is responsible for all of those.

I'm not sure but I can only think of Tyreke, Cousins, Jimmer, and maybe Thompson as our lottery picks.

Of course a lot of things play into how roster moves play out. Money, the state of the team, the attractiveness of your team and city. The Kings being in a small market and on the verge of moving also didn't help anyone's cause either. AGain Petrie is not perfect, but you also have to consider the circumstances.

Not sure that beats my full house

muscleman theus
natt westphal smart

To be fair, Phil Jackson with Gregg Popovic, Red Auerbach, Pat Riley etc. on the bench couldn't have coached this terrible roster to respectability over the last many years.. It's hard to look at Petrie objectively after we held him to near godlike stature for what he did for us earlier this millenium and in Portland before.. but one thing is for sure, the team has been hideous over the last many years and things are not looking up (Tyreke and Cousins are not the cornerstones of a coming dynasty like many here would like to believe), and anywhere else the GM would be long gone by now

I've never seen this board more bi-polar than this season :D

A whole season's worth of knee-jerk crammed into a shortened period will do that. Maybe the instant gratification of having so many games at once is keeping us from being able to look at big picture issues, so instead we go day to day.

Thank you, my bill is in the mail.
