There's not much sense firing Christie during a "gap year", no matter how ill-conceived this organization's approach to that "gap year" happens to be. I don't think he's a good coach, and I can think of a half-dozen candidates off the top of my head whom I would rather see in the role, but you pull that trigger when you're ready to be a serious franchise again.
Still, it's ludicrous that Devin Carter didn't see a single second-half minute tonight. At no point in the first three quarters did Christie's rotation appear even remotely competitive. I just don't understand why a team with the second-worst record in the conference doesn't empty the bench on the second night of a back-to-back. It makes no sense no matter how you slice it. If you're a bad team, you make sure you get your young players extended run in the fourth quarter of an absolute blowout.
