so I had Papa Johns for lunch today.. im a fan. I realized people are picky about where they like their pizza.. so which national chain is your favorite? as I child I would have said Pizza Hut, but now I would have to go with Dominos probably, though my real pizza favorites are some local places..

I guess it would be Papa John's, although Mountain Mike's is a close second. Who I really miss is Shakey's-the best pizza ever! And it's also very nostalgic for me being that I grew up just down the street from the Shakey's on San Juan Ave. Went there quite a bit. I also really miss Rico's for the same reasons, although there is still one in Natomas. The pizza is still very good. I like Little Casear's, although I realize that it is 'cheap pizza'. Still tastes good, and always a great deal. I guess it's an aquired taste, heh.

In college I would have said Dominos but I can't even look at it now. My fav. place for pizza is a local Greek restaurant but as far as national chains I wold say Pizza Hut. I love their pan crust and I want to try the cheesy bites I heard they were good. Now I'm hungry:(

  Shakey's...wow, talk about nostaligic is right. I remember my parents taking me to eat there before school when I was in Kindergarden. it was awesome. I forgot about little casears.. guess that could fall under 'other'.

The only pizza chains that I've ever liked are Numero Uno's (which is/was all over the place in LA, but I don't know if they're anywhere else), and I love California Pizza Kitchen. Other than that, the pizza places I've liked have all been local joints. I just can't stand the Dominos/Pizza Hut/Round Table variety.

Sbarro's okay sometimes.

Other. There is a pizza place here in Stockton called "Pizza Guys". Not to expensive and the pizzas are good. Have you tried a Mexican Taco or a Chicken Taco Pizza?

Plus the fact that I get a 50% discount from them (and sometimes the pizza's free). ;)

Oh... did I mention I am the Assistant Manager of the store? :D

B.J.'s Brewery

Does BJ's Brewery count. They are a chain though I'm not sure how "national" they are. The wife and I had one last night while watching the Kings win. Pretty good way to spend the evening! Though the best is still Pizzaria Clasico in Folsom.

My favorite is Pizza Hut. My family order pizza from there once a month. Sometimes, we order from Round Table too.

If I had to pick a chain, I think Round Table would top the list. However, the local pizzarias are usually better than all of them put together. :D

amici's, but i prefer pizza from local companies instead of national chains. there's more heart and soul in them

NY PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!! best stuff EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to add in New York Pizza and Plus over by West El camino and I-5. Better than Round Table and cheaper and faster! I don't know if they are all this good, but this one is good.

Steve's is very good for gourmet pizza.

I love Pizza Chicago.

Wenelli's (arden and eastern) is a guilty pleasure.

Straw Hat circa 1995 in my area, maybe Prophetess and Nebs might know what I'm talking about.

Straw Hat!! Now there's another childhood nostalgic pizza place for me. I don't even remember what their pizza tasted like or whether it was any good. I know there are very few left in Sacto. There's one on Mather Rd.

i do mad d...

the one i used to go to went from Straw Hat to Pizza Hut and is now a Round Table.

It's been my experience thatthe decency of the pizza pretty much depends on which one you eat at. I liked it best when I made it myself when I worked for that same Pizza Hut. (had one of the best crews there ever)

I wonder if the one on Mather Rd is any good?

Funny thing, I know someone who saw a Papa Johns delivery guy digging for gold while driving... LOL

Anyway, I like Steve's Place, Buffalo Pizza accross from the old Cemetary and Mountain Mikes best... and can't forget Rico's!!
