Fanhouse article by Sam Amick on Tyreke:

Here's another one, with quotes by Reke and Westphal.

Interesting bit: Evans has bulked up to 228 lbs, with the intention of being a bully:

"I'm 228 (pounds) now, and I was 220 when I was playing (last season). I like the size. It's nice for me to bully the guards around. I did it last year, but it's going to be even worse this year. I'll just have fun with it. (Now) I know how to do it. I'm used to it."

Love that attitude Reke! Hopefully he doesnt lose any speed or quickness getting bigger, its going to be fun watching him shove guys around on the way to the rim.

It worries me a bit that he is 228 now, is he going to lose a step or two at that weight?

Have you seen the video of him committing child abuse in the "Poor Kids" thread? That scrimmage was last week. Would say you don't have much to worry about quickness wise.

True, but like you said those were kids out of high school, and not NBA players. Anyway I am sure he hasn't, but it just reminded me when Bibby gained all that muscle and he wasn't as fast as he used to be.

If he replaced fat with muscle then it's all good, think he is in better shape now than he was last year so I'm not worried.

tyreke for his height is as ripped as lebron proportionally and Lebron is 250 lbs and doesn't seem to lose any step

That's very true. People at some points seem to forget LeBron weights 250 lbs. The guy runs like a deer but dashes at you like a truck. No reason to see Tyreke losing any quickness if it's all muscle.

Reke is getting rid of all that teenage fat and turning it into muscle. Add to the fact that he is still filling out his frame. He's only 20 years old (21 in October), so he is still developing man strength.

Look at Lebron in his rookie year. Wade in his rookie year. Lanky guys and now they both look like tanks and still possess incredible quickness.
