What Valde should have thought about has nothing to do with what us Kings fans should root for at the moment. The deal is done, and the best return would be for that pick to land at #4 so that's what I'm going to root for. That's where I'm coming from. Bringing up Vlade in a reply to my comment is out of place.

The rep was cool and we even joked around a little bit. I told him to "guess" what team I was switching to, and he suggested Warriors. I politely told him that no, it was Pelicans and I was following my main man DeMarcus down to the Big Easy. I waited to vomit until we were off the phone, of course, since he was so polite to me.

I will watch more Pelican gameas because I want to ses what Cousins, Davis and Holiday can do together and I suspect Casspi will be a great get for them too.

I will watch the Pelicans. I want to see how DMC and AD do together. I hope they do well, I don't want DMC to fail. But this year I will hope they will have growing pains, losing many games and giving a better pick to Sacramento.
I don't know if I will be able to watch the Kings. And it's not a matter of losing. I watched almost every game of our 17 wins season.

Sadly Evans has been quite bad in his limited minutes this season. I've followed maybe 70% of Pels games since he was traded there and this season is arguably his worst. Would like to watch him play here though.

I'm watching the Pelicans more just because I'm intrigued to see how the Twin Towers thing is gonna work.

I watched the entire Pelicans game and well lets just say it looked all too familiar. Cousins is really talented but he also makes losing plays like trotting back on defense, bam open three for Houston. Houston was just exploiting him on pick and rolls practically everytime down the floor.Every second turns into "oh no is Boogie gonna lose it here?". Its funny how much more you can notice that stuff when they are no longer on your team.

Yup same stats too. Cousins 27 points, 14 rebounds and -13. 30 point loss. Davis even better, 29 points, 9 rebounds and -31.

Well I watched the entire game too and Boogie was doing it all. But put a 6'11 260+lbs guy in a situation, where you as a team commit 20 TO and shoot 19.4% from 3 and it's not gonna end well.
What did people expect? Just by stepping on the floor together AD and Boogie should dominate even one of the best teams in the NBA tailormade to take advantage of slower, bigger teams? Yeah...well not gonna happen.
The twin tower thing depends on stellar efficiency and taking care of the ball. Smaller teams will have the advantage if they can cause live ball TO's and bad shooting percentages.
That's the way basketball works and that's the problem with trying to run a strategy of the 90's in 2017. But it's not Boogies demeanor causing this. There are actual basketball reasons. And maybe just maybe the Pelicans are able to figure things out with more time to gel.

Where did I say it's not Boogie? I said it's not Boogie demeanor. Boogie is part of the Pel's team, he is part of the way they want to play basketball and this way got exposed by the Rockets. Maybe this is because the Pel's team only had one practice and wasn't able to adjust to a new core player on the fly or maybe it's an early sign, that the way the Pel's want to play is not working, because the strengths of the approach aren't enough to cover the weaknesses.
Please do me a favor and don't try to drag me in this Cousins apologists versus Cousins is a cancer debate. I'm interested in basketball not in this blabbermouth thing about the character of a guy I don't know.
Some things, that I noticed:
1. Boogie continues to be a problem in the pick&roll defense, but he came up with lots of steals and blocked some shots. The Pel's did a much better job rotating, when he overcommited to the guard. Actually from my point of view Boogie did a better job than AD on D, which is extremely concerning moving forward, because in order to make the twin towers work AD needs to be stellar on D.
2. Boogie was really late getting back 4 times during the whole game. As usual because he drawed contact and lost his balance. Not a good thing he isn't getting back in time. If this is a game breaker or not, remains to be seen.
3. Gentry instantly commited to Boogie and altered the playstyle of the Pel's. I worried about him being a hardhead like Karl, but the signs are encouraging, that he is trying to adjust.
4. Jrue Holiday looked completely lost, tried passes that just weren't available and wasn't aggressive at all. Can't have that from your starting PG.
5. Hill is a very nice complement to DMC, when he is able to hit shots. His D and his motor should help a ton moving forward.
Cut down the TO's and hit shots at the average clip and this approach might work. I remain very skeptical for now, because teams like the Rockets know how to deal with bigger, slower opponents and 3 are worth more than 2.
Boogie&the Brow could be the reemergence of big man basketball or it could be the final nail in the coffin and turn the league into a 5out league. For sure it's extremely interesting to watch.

Actually, you ARE wrong in this case, IMHO.
Cuz is definitely the wrong tree to bark at on this specific night.
He was the ONLY starter on the team who DIDN'T underachieve...
1. When a team loses by 30, pretty much everyone will have a bad +/-. Boogie had one of the best +/- scores on the Pels, not the worst.
2. Boogie did pretty much everything right, individually, and was the clear-cut All-NBA player of the night in terms of overall production (see Fantasy score daily ranking below).
3. Boogie's stat-line, of 27/14/5/5/4, is actually so rare, that it was only accomplished ONCE in the last 27 years (since Hakeem in 1990)...
The funny thing? That one time was just a few months ago, by the Brow...

Note that Boogie made this line in only 35 minutes, whereas previous cases took at least 39 (Barkley) and as many as 53 (Olajuwon) minutes...
If you factor-in a PT condition (<40min.) and a reasonable TOV condition (<5TOs), then Boogie is the first ever to put those numbers up. (See HERE)
4. On top of it all, Cuz got his numbers super-efficiently: He had 58% overall FG% and 70% for 2pt, and he only had 1 single TO (!!), had no problems with the zebras, paced his fouls right... It was all gold, especially for a debut night.
5. In short, the main problem of the Pels tonight were the other 2 parts of their wannabe-big-3 - AD and Holiday (mostly the latter).
The FG% of those two was 38% and 25% respectively, they had 3 and 7 TOs respectively, and they both had a +/- of -31
Notes:
- The rest of their starting lineup, Hill & Moore, were just as bad (mayby worse), but the level of expectations is hardly comparable...
- The Pels need an urgent Defense transfusion. They're pathetic on the perimeter. They make us look stellar.

-- Gentry isn't the right coach for this group
-- The refs were terrible
-- We are a good PG away from being a deep playoff team
-- Any poster who suggests maybe it's Cousins that's the problem gets immediately reprimanded
Sounds eerily familiar!!!

Frankly, it only makes me convinced that those observations and conclusions, by 2 different fan-bases, are probably right-on-target.

If a 2nd, independant, observer (fan community) also feels that Boogie is getting mugged, and discriminated against by the refs (not getting calls that other players would get),
then it might just be the case, correctly diagnosed...
As for the sucky supporting cast, what would YOU say about the Pels current roster behind Brow&Boogie? To me it looks Brooklin-bad or worse.
The same goes for coaching: In my book Gantry is indeed a sub-par HC, and it so happens that he also runs a Karl-like high-paced bad-D system that doesn't fit his roster, even pre-Cuz.
(They have no perimeter shooters, and they have/had Asik, T-Jones, Reke & Ajinca, FFS!... How fast and furious can they get?
).It's not like Boogie picked the right team for himself, or chose to join this system out of all options. He was just unlucky to be shipped to another badly-constructed team in another somewhat disfunctional franchise. Nothing eery about it.

Obviously, it's way too early to tell how the DMC-AD thing is going to work but if they struggle then it's obvious to me that DMC is the common denominator here and not all the other excuses.
The guy is one of the league leaders in FT attempts. I'm tired of the whining about how he gets "mugged" and how the refs are screwing him. He initiates and creates a lot of contact so sometimes, although it may seem severe, the defenders are not fouling him.
He has NO excuses if this doesn't work in
NOLA. I don't care what the supporting cast is or how crappy Gentry is. If he and AD stay healthy then they should win at least 60% of their games. No excuses!!

I quite agree, if you mean next season (i.e. a full season with a training camp).
* But that would probably also change many of the so-called "excuses" anyway,
as I believe the Pels will have both new pieces and a new HC next season
