If true, this could mean a lot more torture around here as TDOS drags out further:

Moratorium On Signing Free Agents Pushed Back?

19th July, 2005 - 6:20 am

St. Paul Pioneer Press - The St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that the moratorium on signing free agents probably will be pushed back from Friday to Aug. 1. An official announcement could come soon. The new collective bargaining agreement has not been ratified, causing the delay.

Great.

that sucks for the nets..... maybe we can still get rahim, wait no he'll sign with them for mle anyways....

i think the nba is against the kings. they want us fans to suffer even more than we have.

How so? Most signings get announced anyway, even if they're not supposed to. Somehow I doubt that the Kings are being good boys and not talking to FAs for fear of violating NBA bylaws. More likely they just haven't found any moves to make yet, and I can't understand how this hurts the Kings.

How does it hurt Kings fans? We aren't waiting for a particular player to put ink on paper anyway... If anything, I'd be more concerned if it was my team waiting to actually get a signature from someone like Swift or Ilgauskas, etc. Pushing the envelope out further just means someone like Petrie might be able to make a last-second steal.

;)

It's not against the rules to talk to FAs right now. It's just against the rules to actually sign a contract with them.
