ESPN says Kings have decided to KEEP George Karl

Why the **** would Vlade be calling him on the phone?!?!
That makes no sense whatsoever!

Vlade has been at almost every single game, in person, either behind the basket at Sleep Train, or at courtside on the road.
Are we supposed to believe he couldn't bother to meet Karl in person when they're in the same damn city?!?!

Further unbelievableness:
We're supposed to believe that this 5-minute phone call is the first time Karl has been told to REALLY focus on defense, the 3-pt shot, switching less, etc?
If that is true, than every single Kings employee on the basketball side needs to be fired immediately and hire anyone with the brainsize of a walnut, because everyone who follows the Kings has been screaming about it all year long!

Kings never decided to fire Karl, which is why...they didn't fire him. Ranadive leaned toward dismissal, but Divac talked him out of it.

Vlade has reportedly hitched his wagon to Karl. Its make or break time.
Last time Woj got ANYTHING to do with the Kings correct was back when Paul Westphal was still the coach. This guy has absolutely NO sources with the Kings. None! He has been shooting blanks ever since calling Kings to Seattle a done deal.

Everyone loves calling out the "first and goal" tweet, but that wasn't wrong. As I've said before, Sacramento just made a helluva goal line stand.

Increasingly, the Kings front office looks like they have no vision whatsoever.

Like, they don't even decide things - they just do whatever people are screaming loudest for them to do.

Then, when people start bashing them for doing it, they backtrack and re-think/waffle.
Now, they'll likely waffle because people will blow them up for waffling.

It seriously looks like the front office was completely unaware until recently of how bad George Karl has been at coaching this team. It took the embarrassment against the Nets (and the subsequent outcry from fans and media members) for them to even consider firing Karl. For all we know, they may have thought Karl was doing fine and was a completely capable coach until Bobby Jackson went on his tirade after the game.
Maybe they're completely isolated, and just happened to hear of it first time on that telecast? :(
At least, that's the way the're making themselves look...

I'm so past tired of this day and age of Internet/Social media news reporting.

Nobody has a clue what's really going on, yet everyone (especially the media) seems intent on acting as if everything that's been reported the past several days is truth.

"The Kings are a mess and can't make up their mind, yadda, yadda, yadda"

Twitter and social media has taken the old adage "Believe nothing that you read and only half of what you see" to new lows. It seems everyone wants to believe 100% of what they read and it spirals out of control from there .......

The original Woj article said the Kings were "strongly considering" firing Karl not that the decision had been made. His tweet said they never decided to do so. Technically he didn't say anything wrong unless I am missing something.

Woj, and most social media pundits, are very good at covering their posteriors. Not saying he was doing so intentionally, but they generally do leave a bit of wiggle room.

I'm actually ok with this. A big part of this organization's problems has been the lack of stability. I feel that Vlade should give Karl at least until the end of the year. Demarcus Cousins on the other hand needs to step up and stop making excuses.

I'm not sitting through another 10 years of futility.

Why is it so hard for this franchise to figure out the obvious issues? Cousins is a half court player. So was Tyreke. Rudy Gay is a half court player. Malone was right, there is no correlation between pace and success. It's easy enough to look at the numbers and compare for yourself. You run some sort of post offense, maybe toss in a little triangle and princeton concepts. (GS and SA both do btw) You play at least middle of the road defense, take advantage of your top 10 player, and get to the playoffs. From there, you tweak the roster to fill out holes. You become a desirable place to play. The narrative changes. All you have to do is understand the obvious and do what needs to be done. No PR politics. No blame game. Just fix the basketball side of things.
It's so obvious yet so many either don't see it or don't want to see it. I think it comes down to Cousin hatred. If they acknowledge the obvious then Cousins would be the dominating player he really is and it would discredit some people here.

If you are going to come out and support the coach this is too little too late, although a meddling owner could have something to do with the timing. Also seems like Rondo may still be in Karl's corner, which if you want to resign him would give his opinion some weight. Whatever the detail may be this is not a good look and another indication of the problems at the top.
