The recent decision by the Kings to remain in Sacramento for at least one
more season – but hopefully much longer – represents a turn of events for which
many thank-yous are required: to Mayor Kevin Johnson, who refused to accept the
inevitability of the Kings' departure and rallied regional leaders and state and
federal government representatives – including U.S. Rep. Doris Matsui and state
Sen. Darrell Steinberg; to the greater Sacramento business community; to
longtime Kings supporters and new Kings supporters; and, most important, to
Kings fans.

The outpouring of community support was a phenomenon unlike any that I have
seen in my almost three decades as NBA commissioner. It has spurred me to send
my colleagues to Sacramento to help the team respond to the enormous demand for
sponsorships and tickets, and assist them with the permanent hiring required to
replace employees who left because of the franchise's uncertain status.

That is a nice article. By the way, pro-arena folks are representing pretty well to the naysayers in the dreaded comments

bbbbmer and his many user names along with bbgvl2 are the two biggest trolls on the Bee's forum.

They're two older people who are just negative to the bone.

Carmichael Dave called bbbbmer out to go on his show and debate the arena issue with him.

bbgvl2 got into it and he refuses to debate because he has to protect his super secret identity.

bbbbmer guranteed that the Kings would move to Anaheim for the 2011-2012 season. He was wrong. Dead wrong.

They're just negative trolls and that's it.

Thanks David Stern! We won't let you down!

I know reading fan forums is part of what the NBA personnel do on a daily basis. I just want to let them know it's appreciated by us Kings fans! :)

I'm well aware of shlomo and bbgvl. I just can't help myself to take a jab at em though. I read CD's attack on "baby girl". I think he really got under his skin. Priceless

I've been getting into responding more just to show those that might be more quiet that it's ok to call these trolls out for what they are. I usually just ignore them, but all you have to do is outnumber them and their pathetic side will usually start showing.

If I sent a hand writen letter to the Bee right now, I would be required to include my name, location and a phone number so a clerk could call me and verify the first two. Only then would it even be considered for print.

So why does the Bee give anonymous dregs the increasingly powerful soapbox of Bee sponsered Internet space in the form of a "comments section" to spew their cerebral posion?

Force people to put their name behind their opinions and we'd alleviate many of those issues.

Agreed. How could anyone sit all day and night and keep up with those guys. I swear I think they're on someones payroll. In the end, what is written in those sections really doesn't matter much, but if someone's on the fence, and looking for answers, we need to post some positivity. Some people still think the Maloofs owe Sacramento the 67 million as if it would go right in the coffers.

It's my understanding that bond money can't be used for Police, fire etc. But posters are thinking "the money should be used for that" I am right....right?

True

You know something pretty special happened when Stern says he hasn't seen anything like it in his 30 years as commissioner. I'm still amazed at how fans, politicians, and business people came together as one in a united effort to keep The Kings. I honestly never would have believed that kind of galvanized effort could have happened here if I hadn't seen it. It actually made me proud to be from Sacramento! How often does that happen?

You are right. It would mean you are taking out debt to pay employees. So where's the money going to come from to pay the loan back? By raising revenue some how. Its called paying more taxes. You'd be better to raise the taxes more right now, so you aren't paying all that interest. Plus, borrowing may cover you for a year or two, but you certainly can't borrow every year. The people are idiots and, yes, the money the Maloofs are paying goes to the provate investors who own the bond or a share of the bond. They don't owe anything to the city. I've pointed that out over there at the Bee comments before. They just ignore it and go on another attack. Then they repeat the same garbage for the next article.

Oh and thank you David Stern for giving us such a nice pat on the back and for sending your people out here to help make a deal work, if at all possible.
