What's the status of his contract? Was he signed for 10 days or the remainder of the season? All I could find was that he was picked up off waivers...

Okay, pretty sure doesn't really answer my question. ;)

I'm hoping someone will have a link to something definitive.

(I was hoping for the 10 day response, because that would explain why RA is giving him as much time as possible right now.)

Good question. The fact that I haven't specifically heard that he's on a 10-day leads me to believe that he's around for the duration. It's too early to judge, certainly, but his first game was scary. Couple of nice passes today. But he's certainly not a point guard; he's a small 2 guard who is an OK ballhandler. I know he replaced B-Jax, who's also more of a 2 than a one, but with the Mobley-Christie trade, seems the Kings could use more of a pure point for that role.

Thanks, NME. I'm SO glad you're back posting!!!

Okay, I think the whole House scenario just cleared up a bit - at least for me. They signed him to a 10-day contract to see what he can do. If they think he's satisfactory, they'll re-sign him. If not, we wave bye-bye to House and he gets to hang around Mike's and moan about his unfortunate early departure from the team. Not something I would like, but from what I understand about Mike and Team Dime, he pretty much has a houseful most of the time anyway. Poor Darcy.

Anyway, if the Kings have him signed for 10-days they may as well get their money's worth and at least see if he's a viable alternative. Remember, he's just filling a few minutes of time. As long as he doesn't actually cost us games, I think they'll probably keep him.

I like what I've seen from House so far, I hope we do keep him. He's been in a brutal shooting slump, obviously, but he's not forcing any shots and he's playing tough defense. Also rebounding great from the PG position. Can't see us picking up anyone better at this point.

Speaking of House, I'd rather his time be cut a little now that Mobley is playing and pair of Martin and Mobley in the backcourt at times. Is House really that much better a ball handler than Mobley? Bibby/Bobby/Mobley/House are just redundant. Martin is at least a little different and this team has already let too much young talent go to waste because Adleman wouldn't play his bench.

NME, you maintain your title of...

So, glad you are finding time for us again. I missed you, buddy!!

VF....I heard RA say in an interview the day after the signing that his contract was picked up for the year. He was specifically asked by....I think it was Gary Gerald....if it was a 10 day and he said no.

House was claimed off waivers and was not signed to a 10 day contract so the Kings inherit his contract. Since all contracts are now gauranteed he is hear for the rest of the season. Kings can still waive him but they would still owe his contract.

" SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento Kings today placed guard Bobby Jackson on the injured list and claimed Eddie House off waivers, announced Kings President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. "

Well, I'll take Rick's word over Random Local Florida Columnist any day.

I have an idea. Let's set House down and let Kevin play. ;)

We just might have seen the beginning of that tonight with that nice 4th quarter stretch from Special K.

How fun was that lineup with him, Mo and Cat?

It was incredibly fun watching Special K and Shark Bite (my newest name for Mo) in there.

I understand wanting to go back to the players you trust, but I had a bit of an "aw shucks" moment when they were pulled.

Let Eddie House go. He's a self-first team-second player. I don't like his game & he tries to do too much. Basketball IQ isn't for this Kings team we have right now. I'd rather see Special K play the minutes that he'd get.

I knew from the start Eddie House was going to be bad. Let go of him before he takes up more valuable playing time that could go to better use.

I think the only people happy with his play tonight was the Spurs. Hopefully he will improve, but tonight he was definitely a liability.
