This looks like MCL or ACL. Either way, looks like Derrick is done with serious career in basketball. It sucks

It's a shame that Rose got hurt with the team leading by so much that late in the game. Really no reason for him to be in.

I hate when websites have to be the first to break "news" even if it hasn't been confirmed. They say "unconfirmed" and "premature" so why is it still there? One of the bad things about all this instant media...

He did walk off, albeit with help, and the injury itself didn't make me sick to my stomach so I'm going to hope it's nowhere near as bad as these unconfirmed reports are alleging.

Rose Injury Update: Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and he's out for the remainder of the season.

Well s***. Rose down and out with torn ACL ESPN just reported. That sucks.

One of my absolute favorite players in the league. Out for London too. Thank god he's young and should recover. Tougher for the 6'10", 250 lb guys who do this at 27 or 28.

Well, 6 people are definitely hurting at the moment (the 6 who voted in the poll, that is). Sucks big time as D Rose is arguably one of my favorite players to watch right now...Bulls should still take care of Philly but I do not see them going past the 2nd round...

If there is any team in the playoffs that has shown it can win without its star, it's the Bulls who had to play a good part of the season without Rose already. I think they're good for this round, regardless of Rose, because Philadelphia just isn't in the same class. It's the next round where it will get very interesting.

We've been where Chicago is right now. Oh, they might advance a round. Even two rounds. But Miami just got its way paved home. That's a shame.

Says who? That's ridiculously premature to say, no offense.

I hope I'm wrong, but as a former basketball player, I've seen a lot of guys go down like that and they never managed to reach the same level again.
Especially Rose, whose game is all about those crossed moves.

I wish the best of luck to him, Iman and Rubio.

ah crap... miami guaranteed championship this season unless the refs pull a sac/la biased officiating on miami.

I will be rooting for whoever wins the West to beat the Heat, even if it's the Lakers. But hopefully it's the Spurs or OKC.

Real shame for Rose, same for Shumpert who's had a nice rookie year.

It's gonna be hard for anyone to "handle" Miami when the flop is on. Who knows maybe we'll see a flop off final. Flop City vs Miami.

I almost burst lol after imagining that series.

I hate to see Rose go down, but now this series becomes a lot more interesting. The Bulls played very well without Rose during the regular season. Let's see how it goes now. Two great coaches by the way. Love to watch teams that have good coaching.

The Bulls looked majorly demoralized in Game 2, getting blown out on their home floor. Now they have to go to Philly to play 2 games against a very confident 76ers team. If the Bulls somehow do not get back in this series mentally and realize they have won w/o Rose all year, they're going to be down 3-1. It's all mental for them now.

Why did we trade Spencer Hawes? He was a beast today. I would have loved to see him beside Cousins and Tyreke :(

What, you've never read the Book of Lukenbill? Here's the relevant passage from Chapter 5:

20. And so in his exile did Lukenbill leave the City of the Sacrament in bitterness and hatred. 21. And lo in that day he spake a curse against them, saying: 22. "Never more shall your people rest in content, but rather will their troubles increase even as hopes of their waning appear. 23. And they shall be plagued by pestilence, injury, and the winds shall blow things unwarranted foul, and those in whom they put their trust shall in the end prove faithless. 24. And those things that they have, they shall never want, but of all those things that they cast away they shall regret the casting forever."

Yeah, um, this is why you don't give up on 21, 22 and 23 yr olds. It's not like this hasn't happened before, but a present example for Kings fans might at the least cool a handful from the constant, "trade this guy" or "trade that guy" when they're only a few years in to their NBA careers.

Also ask yourself this. Would Spencer have made this improvement playing for the Westy/Smart combo? If you answer no, join the "get a real damn coach" bandwagon.

Am happy for Spencer though. Will be interesting to see where he lands this summer.

while spencer's improvement in philly has certainly salvaged his career and then some, i hazard to guess that a cousins/hawes frontline would not be the least bit effective, defensively. the kings have to fill those pressing needs, and looking backward towards hawes with 20/20 hindsight isn't terribly compelling to me, although i agree with the sentiment that you don't give up on talented young players too soon, especially bigs. roy hibbert would agree, as well...
