DWade (split from draft position thread)

I was hoping they could pull out a win against Dwade aka The Greatest Ballhog of All Time.

Maybe with the return of Hibachi they will go through a sudden surge of good play?

Without the "greatest ballhog of all time", that team would be below us in the standings.

Haha very true

While the Heat do need Dwade to carry them on his back for the most part, I think it would benificial for him to pass out of some situations.

Granted I don't watch a ton of Heat games, but I can think of many instances where he decides take his chances against 2 on 1s, (even a cpl 3 on 1s!), instead of dropping it off to a wide open teammate. If he wants his team to grow, he needs to learn to trust his teammates and share the ball when the time calls for it. Ala Lebron or Kobe.

I'm not taking away from his outstanding play tho

I see how your perception of him is skewed, because the ball ALWAYS runs through him, and the lack of overall talent on his team.

However, you can't call someone the greatest ballhog of all time when he averages 7.5 assists/game. I agree that he takes some bad shots sometimes, but so do Lebron and Kobe. And IMO they do it more frequently

I think the reason Dwade avgs 7.5 asts/gm is mainly because he ALWAYS has the ball as oppossed to conciously passing the ball around.

But like I said, my opinion is really only based on a small sample size of Heat games that I've seen.

A great example of my opinion happened last week, Miami vs Detriot. Chalmers and Wade vs 3 Pistons on the fast break. Chalmers kicks to the 3 pt line and no one follows, but Dwade decides to take on 3 defenders and drive to the lane instead of passing. The shot doesn't fall, but he does get the foul call (of course haha :D ) .

I just see simple stuff like that as perfect opprotunities to share and build confidence within your team. Obviously when I said he was the 'greatest ballhog of all time' I was over exaggerating, similar to a lot of unofficial and official nicknames. And once again, not taking away from his outstanding overall play this year.

Yeah, I hear ya man. I'm gonna defend Wade because he's like my favorite player. But anyway, I just feel that if he didn't shoot as much, then people would say he isn't carrying his team etc, like the criticism Garnett used to receive.

Honestly, every player takes stupid shots. Great players probably take stupid shots every game, but nobody takes notice of a dumb shot if it goes in

Could we spell Wade's name as DWade instead of Dwade? Everytime I see it, I first read it as Dwade....like Vlade only with a dw instead of a vl. It cracks me up with embarassment every time. :o :p

Sorry! Carry on.

Haha yea I figured he was on your list. I agree with you, he would def get criticisim if he wasn't doing so much work for the Heat.

You know what, if we can convince him to come to the Kings in 2010, I bet he would be more willing to pass the ball around. Kmart, JT, Spencer, and B.Griffin/R.Rubio sound like some sweet complimentary players! And I'm sure he'd still be able to get his 25+ a night!

A man can dream right?

Sorry for the confusion haha :D

Dwyane wade is averaging 22 shot attempts per game, while Lebron is averaging 19.9, on a much better team, and kobe with 20.9.

This "ballhog" of yours is only shooting about 2 shots more than lebron or Kobe on a team that has way better players.

but that ballhog got miami to a 43-39 record this season with his unnecessary shots. he has to do what he can with the teammates he's given; i didn't think he was a "ballhog" during the olympics.

if i were a heat fan, i'd be inclined to take that.
