Dream Team: To make the Kings Champs of 05-06!

OK, I know alot of you Kings fans on this site my not agree with my trade proposal, but hear me out on this and you may just see why I think this would be a very good trade to make the Kings a better all around team in the long run.

The teams that would be involved would be the Kings(of course!),Chicago, and another team that I am unceratin of at the moment.Maybe Minnesota im thinking...

Players involved in trade: Kings: Kevin Martin,Kenny Thomas,And Darius Songaila.

For

Chicago:Tyson Chandler

KINGS

Salaries: Kevin Martin: 6,417,185 through 08-09

Kenny Thomas: 36,656,249 through 09-10

With darius we would have to resign him then trade him. I say we sign Darius for 4-5 years at $7 Million.

Chicago

Salaries: Tyson Chandler: 6,265,439

Now chicago would have to go back and make a new contract for Chandler. I was thinking along the lines of 5 years 50 million.

How the trade would go down!

The trade would have to be like what we did for Brad and Bonzi( a 2-3 team trade). Sacramento would trade Kevin Martin and Darius Songaila to chicago for Tyson Chandler. Kenny Thomas would be traded to Minnesota. After the trades go down we would sign Matt Barnes to the Kings for one year for now for the min salary.

How the Kings would look on paper

Starting Line up : Bench 1 : Bench 2:

PG:Bibby PG:Hart | PG: Price |
SG:Bonzi SG:Garica | SG:Barnes | Both Barnes and
SF:peja SF:Corliss | SF:Barnes | Sampson can
PF:Shareef PF:Skinner| PF:Sampson| play 2 positions
C:Brad C:Chandler| C:Sampson | if needed

Now I dont know about you Kings Fans but to be I think that this would make the kings a very very strong chance at a run for the title in 06. I did not make this thread to make anyone mad or whatever. I was talking to one of my friends last night about " what if the Kings got....", and I came up with this.In my option I think that would be an awesome setup for the Kings in the long run. We got stronger, have a better bech, and got younger( chandler is only 22 and Barnes is 24).

Post your thoughts and feelings on this thread of what you think this Kings team would be like if it happened! Remember what the tread said...DREAM TEAM!

I asked about this idea in another thread, but if it was me, I think I would be very tempted to start Chandler at the PF instead of SAR. I know SAR probably would not be all too excited about that, but it just seems like Chandler, while not the jump shooter that SAR is, can do so much more while on the floor. Love the idea though even though I don't think the Bulls would go for it, Chandler is young and just started to use some of that vaunted potential.

I'm not sure he's better, but he can be a game changer in the ways we need it most and I don't think SAR can do that. Chandler can dominate defensively and still has all kinds of growing room offensively, so I would be tempted to start him over SAR. I'm not saying I definitely would, but if I was the coach I would be tempted to try it. With that said I highly doubt Adelman would simply because of his love/trust of experienced players. So I guess I'm still undecided.

This is one of those ultimate no brainer trades -- of COURSE you would do it if you're us. But the problem with most no brainer trades is that the other side would never consider it, which is I believe the case here. Tyson Chandler might be a more valuable commodity right now than any one of our starters, let alone a random collection of our benchers. This trade would require Geoff's entire collection of blackmail pictures to even get the Bulls to listen to the offer.

Yeah, this trade ain't happening.

However, would the Bulls trade Curry for Thomas so they'd have a starting PF and Chandler at the center? Would the Kings make that trade? hmmmm......

Curry for Thomas? Thats a tough one. Curry is young and hes big, but he doesn't do much other than score down low. He doesn't block shots really and hes kind of an average rebounder, maybe I would just stick with Thomas. But Curry is still very young so there is definitely some appeal there.

Songaila is a restricted free agent. Ain't happening buddy. Petrie won't even have enough money to resign him even if he wanted to. And in order to make this trade, he would need to sign Darius first.

^^^Well, seeing as Darius wants to go to Chicago, he would probably be willing to do a s&t for more money. Problem is, that accepts that Bulls are getting Darius anyway, so basically the Bulls are trading Tyson Chandler for Kevin Martin. I'm sure they'll just be jumping to get this one done.

Should this occur in some bizarro world, I would start Chandler at PF only because SAR is more versatile and can backup both Chandler and Peja when either of them leaves, meaning he will be able to get almost starter minutes backing up two positions, while Chandler would just split minutes with Brad and SAR and would be wasted playing short minutes off the bench. The ability to play multiple roles makes SAR a greater value off the bench.

First, why isn't this posted in the trade thread? Is this necessary?
Second, that is no "Dream Team", not even close.
Third, I like Tyson Chandler.

you all think chandler is better than SAR?
I think he's a better player in a head-to-head comparison and an even better player in the context of what we need. Neither player is a star. You look at their career years (Chandler has yet to have his, but we can imagine) and neither guy is a lock to be an All-Star in that year. Chandler is very good or great at a few things (rebounding, shotblocking, hustle plays and finishing at the basket) while Abdur-Rahim is pretty good at a few things (finding ways to score the ball, hitting the midrange jumper).

I'll take the guy who (supposedly) doesn't have as much skill but who does something better than 90% of the league.

And what exactly didn't make sense? I'm sorry but Peja, Bibby, Bonzi, SAR, and Chandler are no dream team. Why don't you start a poll to find out the answer to that one. This doesn't deserve its own thread, Chandler is being thoroughly discussed in the trade thread.

You know, I have been a fan of Tyson since he's been in the league, I have watched him grow, get better, but I seriously don't know when he became as good as some people seem to think.

If we could get him for Kenny, Darius, and Kevin, you obviously should think about it, but man I just don't know if he is going to be anywhere near worth what he'll be getting paid this offseason.

Maybe thats what he meant by "dream team", meaning it won't happen. When I think of "dream team", none of those guys are on mine, except for Bibby.

Put down the bong and step away from the Key board. The other teams in the NBA do not exist onluy to make dumb trades just to make the Kings better.

The Original Dream Team. Ridiculous amount of talent. I don't think that today's NBA could put together a team near that talented.

I thought this guy was referring to an equal of that dream team if chandler was added.
