We should trade our pick on draft day, but only if none of Burke, Oladipo or Porter is available.
I dono…. Read some where that Shabazz fell from projected #1 to #9. Maybe his ACL surgery this past February is suspect.
How many damn times will the Cavs win the lottery?! What a ****ing joke.
Our miserable *** roster could only land us the 7th pick? Trade that ****.
Yes, it's disappointing that the Kings didn't move up. There were better odds that we'd slide to 7 but it's frustrating that the Kings never seem to move up in the lottery.
But I think it's the nearly two decades under Geoff Petrie that has conditioned Kings fans to believe that our draft slot is unchangeable. Geoff has an eye for talent for sure, but he is the least aggressive draft day GM ever and is content to wait until he's on the clock and grab the best player on his board. Since he seems to be fairly active in trades on draft day (more so than at the trade deadline) I always wonder if his focus is on those calls rather than focused on possible draft moves. Either way, the reality is that depending on the GM that is brought in (assuming Petrie is cut loose or moved to an advisory role) the Kings could be players on draft day. If Oladipo or Porter are major targets, the Kings could likely make the move to get them.
We'll see.
ha. This post reminds me of when we fell to #5 the year we got Cousins. Everyone here thought the
Sky was falling, and there would be no way in the world to get a talent like that
Lets see what happens. Obviously a talent like cousins isn't available, but I guess
You never know
Frankly, every year I just anticipate us dropping anyways. Why would this year be any different?
I am happy the team is staying. Period. If we picked 30th no big deal to me. Our early Christmas gifts already arrived.
Can't shoot? John Stockton & Jason Kidd - Just about the two greatest point guards of our generation - Both poor to average shots.
I'm not too upset about our position in the draft.
MCW it is, in my opinion. All of these "reasons" we shouldn't draft him are ridiculous. Small hands? Come on. Can't shoot? John Stockton & Jason Kidd - Just about the two greatest point guards of our generation - Both poor to average shots.
You really need to go look up Stockton's career shooting numbers...I get your point if you just said Kidd, but Stockton was a very very good shooter.
The odds of a mid lotto pick in a weak draft reaching the level of one of the most decorated HOF point guards ever is not something you can really use as an argument for MCW.
Rondo has much bigger hands, much longer wingspan, and knows how to play within his limitations. MCW has too high of a dribble, he won't be able to protect the ball like Rondo. I'm not saying he's going to suck, but the bust potential is huge with him, and I don't want the Kings to be the team taking that chance.
Why not? Rondo was a pick #21 in the 2006 draft, which was as weak as this one. He's well on his way to getting there, and before he got injured was arguably the best PG in the NBA. Stockton was taken at #16, too - Although it was in the greatest draft.
I'm not saying MCW will be Rondo, Kidd, or Stockton - But there's no saying he won't be either.
I'm just for drafting a player that does something we're lacking really well. All of that other stuff is meaningless.
