Ive recently become very confident in Thompson and Hawes as starters. but not Beno, I feel that is our weakest position, and supposed to be the strongest.

Will Griffin for Westbrook work straightup? if Russell ends up being WORTH more, maybe throw Beno in the mix?

what do you think.

Westbrook + a first rounder or two (doesnt OKC have four first rounders this year?).

I think straight up its not really worth it.

Griffin worth more then that

We would be the laughing stock of the NBA if we traded Griffin for Westbrook. I do agree PG is a position we need the most help but 3 bigs of Griffin/JT and Hawes would have us set at the big positions for a good 10 years. I do like Westbrook a lot, I just think we would need to get more for a player like Griffin.

I know the Clipps really like Beno, maybe we can work a 3 team trade with them, where Davis goes to Houston Beno goes to Clipps and we get one of their young PG's. They have a couple good young pg's. Or we can grab a FA pg or draft one with our other 1st round pick.

NO! Blake Griffin IMO can be a better version of Amare Stoudemire once he develops a mid-range Jumper because of his rebounding and great footwork.

Plus you never know how far a player like Brandon Jennings can fall in the draft.

Worst trade of the year. You just don't trade a #1 pick for Westbrook. At least make it Westbrook + the #3 or something along that line.

Westbrook was the #4 pick in a much better draft. Is it a bad trade if Westbrook is better than Griffin? We don't know which player is better right now, but I'd feel better going forward with Westbrook, Martin, Thompson, Hawes than with Griffin, Martin, Thompson, Hawes. Then all four of your foundation players are in the starting lineup and at least one of them is a standout defender.

Yeah I think it would be possible to do something like Griffin and Garcia for Westbrook and their pick.

Thsi all depends what you think of Blake Griffin. Like all such proposals.

It also BTW depends on what the Thunder think of Blake Griffin, as Westbrook is one of their young cornerstones and they aren't going to be eager to move him.

I really think its our best option to trade Griffin for a proven up and coming PG or SF... we have the PF position filled and we are in desperate need of a PG. If we could work out a deal like the stated one for Westbrook and maby a little more coming the Kings way, id do it.

I think I would do this just because Westbrook fills a need, is young and also a great 1-on-1 defensive player. For once we may have someone that can stop opposing PGs penetration. But also Westbrook hasnt really proven to be a true PG yet so who knows that will work out.

If you trade a #1 overall pick you normally get a bundle in return. Only problem is I'm not sure Griffin or anybody else is worth a bundle so who bites will be limited. This is the kind of year where a GM probably would prefer to get the 2nd or 3rd pick so they have some cover if their high pick doesn't pan out.

Exactly like the last time we got the top pick.

15/5/5 isn't bad for a first year PG...

If we aren't able to land Rubio for some reason it wouldn't be a bad idea. That, and we'd be getting back quite a bit of value, presumably.

The Kings need a legit pt guard. I'm not sold on Westbrook as being that. I could be wrong, but as long as there's a doubt about his long term potential as a fit on the team, I would pass. Westbrook has always reminded me of an AI type of point guard. Exciting to watch, no doubt, but not what the Kings need.

Before we put the cart before the horse, I would wait and see who comes knocking.

When a team is as bad as the Kings are, they need to draft and deal for Talent, rather than to fill the weakest positions. We need a Kevin Durant, not his second fiddle point guard. Trading our best shot for this kind of talent for a second fiddle guy is -not- what I'd like to see.

I think Griffin for Westbrook and a 1st rounder would be the best deal in Kings history. That means we get Westbrook + Thabeet or Hill or Mullens.

and I so hope we arent the team that lands Rubio... hes not for us

Yeah, I can see why you'd think that. Rubio is only the best prospect to ever come out of Europe. I mean, we only have a gaping hole at PG and a desperate need to bring excitement back to the organisation and fans back to Arco. Rubio would bring none of that...

:rolleyes:

Step 1: trade Blake Griffin to OKC for Jeff Green and their pick.
Step 2: Draft Danny Green with the 31st Pick
Step 3: Hilarity ensues with Green passing to Greene over to Green for the dunk.

:D

OKC would never do that, and rightfully so. Westbrook is too good with a ton of potential to get better as PG. You don't give up a PG with his mix of athleticism, talent, and potential for Griffin. It would put them in the same situation that we are in; Solid young bigs, but no one to get them the ball.

It really doesn't matter that Griffin played locally, no self-respecting GM goes after local talent just because it brings in fans. Well, except for the Bobcats when Jordan was calling the shots, and what good has it done them?

Why the hell would OKC trade Westbrook + #2~3pick for Griffin?
I would do Westbrook+#25pick for Griffin + Beno.

Bajaden// If Westbrook reminds you of AI, then we should certainly bring him to Sac. Don't you remember AI taking Phillies to NBA final all by himself? we have better lineup than Phily back in early 2000. I would certainly trade Griffin for Westbrook.

Just a matter of preference mi amigo. I've never cared for AI's game. Doesn't make me right or you wrong, its just a preference of style. In my opinion, AI was always a two guard in a pt guards body. I see Westbrook the same way. So it depends on what kind of team your building. It appears to me that Petrie is intent on recapturing the same style of play from the CWebb/Vlade era. If so, an AI type of player is a bad fit. What the Kings need is a true pt guard. Right now they have a poor man's imitation in Beno.

Jason=Webber..... close
Hawes=Miller.....better, but for sure
Nocioni=Peja?? same size maybe.
martin=Doug?? without the defense
beno.... needs to go

I do feel what you say he wants they glory days back in Sac, but for sure they are thinking about throwing in a twist, remember, we more than likely will be competing with Portland and Atlanta very soon as the premier young team.

Throw is Westbrook, we automatically become a playoff team, no doubt what so ever, and if Jason & Hawes become 15 & 10 players EACH... its over.

Westbrook isn't a pure PG. I don't want that for the Kings. IMO Rubio is better fit to run the team than Westbrook.

I voted yes with the condition that we get a draft pick as well. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense.

You can't be serious. There are far more players that can play PG than PF. The number of quality 6'10 players vs. the number of quality 6'2 players has a stark contrast.

Kings would be idiots to deal Griffin for Westbrook.
