Orlando stumbles at home

[font=Times New Roman, serif]ORLANDO - Doug Christie went from playing an average 28 minutes a game to just 5 minutes Saturday against the Miami Heat, having gotten bumped out of the starting lineup in favor of rookie Jameer Nelson.

To make matters worse, Christie was the fifth player off the Magic bench behind Tony Battie, Pat Garrity, Hedo Turkoglu and Stacey Augmon. He missed three of his four shots in the second quarter and did not play in the second half. Acquired in a Jan. 10 trade for Cuttino Mobley for his defensive skills, the Magic never turned to him late in Saturday's game as Dwyane Wade was torching Orlando for 14 fourth-quarter points.

Christie said his time was limited because of his sprained left ankle, but Magic head coach Johnny Davis said before the game that his lineup changes were coming even if there had been no injury. He wants Nelson to play more and he wants Francis at shooting guard to lessen his ball-handling duties.

"It's coach's decision, so what am I going to do?" said Christie, the Magic's fifth reserve off the bench again Sunday night. "The tougher adjustment is going from one team to another in the middle of the year than (coming off the bench).

::big sigh:: i wish he were still a King. I hate to see him like this

Would probably have happened sooner or later here as well -- Doug is fading. Happens to the best of them.

At least he was happy with the Kings..he never looks happy anymore
That really sucks that he looks unhappy in Magics. :( No playing time isn't helping...but I know Doug. He's a classy and respectful guy so he probably understand why he's not playing a lot of mins. :)
