Doug Christie to Kings next week?!

He will go to the Mavericks or Seattle, there is no way he goes to the Lakers. and if he did it would be a bad day to be a Kings fan.

Ya but it was also hard to see Vlade in a laker uniform also. If it happens it happens. If he does go to LA with the point guard skills he has it would be a great addition for the lakeshow. Imagine though if he comes to the Kings we could have a roster of:

PG: Bibby,Salmons,Douby
SG: Martin,Christie
SF: Artest,Garcia
PF: Rahim,Thomas
C: Miller,Taylor,Woods

Because, it's gonna be hard to see Doug in a Laker uniform.

hm. won't be for me. if it were DC in his prime, i might be a bit perturbed, but does anybody really care? if he were going to the lakers he'd be seeing very limited minutes behind kobe bryant.

lemme tell you about a bad day for kings fans: the day the lakers acquire kevin garnett. that would be a day to fear. doug's a great dude, and was a solid, dependable ball player, but middle-aged, past-his-prime doug christie is hardly anything to get worked up over.

Yep.

One of my favorite Kings from a few years back, but if he wants to make another go somewhere, more power to him.

Be fun to watch Kevin Martin and Garcia hook up against him in a game. :D

Actually, if Doug has anything left physically, I would not be at all surprised to see Doug STARTING alongside Kobe.

Again, think Ron Harper. A long lanky over the hill OG with bad wheels, but with combo guard skills, a defensive mentality, and veteran saavy. Just bring it up, get it to the scorers, defend, cause problems with your size, play a role. What they hoped McKie would be last year before they discovered he was done. Maybe JJ too.

Not that I think that makes them world beaters -- but just by being the perfect fit as a PJ point, it could make them just a little tougher.

Doug has proven that he is washed up already--with Dallas, when given the starters' opportunity, he produced measly stats--horrible shooting percentages, limited effectiveness on the court and on the stat sheet, a bit of pouting, etc. which eventually caused him to be waived. His time is up--trying to get on with another team is futile.

you raise a good point, and one that i hadn't really thought of. if he truly is in great physical shape (and he'd really have to be in order to attempt a serious come-back), then i could see that happening. though, of course, only with the lakers. i don't really know what PJ's vision is for the lakers this season, but i imagine its gonna be pretty much like last season. he'll be up to his same old tricks, just with less talent than he's typically used to. doug might be able to fit there...but again, only if he's healthy. regardless, it really should have no bearing on kings fans and their feelings towards doug and/or the lakers. shoot, he was a laker for a year or two before toronto and before he came to sacramento, right?

Yep. And the Knicks too. And heck, Seattle drafted him. He's also been in Orlando and Dallas since. He's played everywhere.

Still, Vlade started out with the Lakers too, but seeing him back in that uniform just seemed...wrong. ;)

All I can say is that I would MUCH rather have Doug sitting in the 10th to 12th slot on our bench than WHOEVER it winds up being this season. Love to have his knowledge of the game, heart, fire, and ability to mentor our swings in D. Well worth the #10-12 slot, wouldn't you say, where ANY team rarely has an impact player?

But with a glut of swingmen signed, it ain't in the cards for a return of the Christies to SACTown IMHO.

And I think that is pretty much it. Final answer.

i agree with the reality show part, we dont need that embarssament at all
Speaking of reality shows(totally off topic, sorry VF:D ), isnt the Real World coming to Sacramento?? A friend of mine at work mentioned that, and I was like...uh...why the hell would they come here, of all places?? I guess Stockton couldnt fit them in their busy schedule.

why?, hes not gonna help them much at all, i think it would be great give la a player that wont produce much of anything and it will just take minutes away from players that will...which is better for the kings

if we hadnt signed salmons or drafted douby... that would be cool... but now? heck, salmons is basically a younger doug.... same size, skill and shaky outside shot.... maybe not the defensive skills... but im sure hes better than bibby...

why would rw go to sacto? why stockton, they'd go to sf or even berkeley over sacto

After losing bonzi wells to houston darn it. I kinda like houston now i just hope D.C. signs with us soon. Who is he with now?

No the Real World is not coming to Sac, they are just coming here for auditions so if anyone in here is between 18 and 24 go try out, I believe the tryouts are at the Library which is a club over off Folsom blvd right behind Sac State.

I really doubt we'll sign DC honestly we got Maurice Taylor why sign another old player? if anything i expect him to go to Seattle. again i'm not gonna say the Lakers because i don't want to think about it.

cool...I havent watched anything reality-related in freaking years, cant stand it, actually...especially the RW.(cant remember the last time I watched MTV...probably when they actualy had MUSIC VIDEOS on there...remember those??) was just more of a wondering thing, than an actual interest. :D anyways, on with the D.C. talk...

I would love to see Doug back with the Kings... Maybe Musselman could find a spot for him. He could definitely teach Martin and DEFINITELY Salmons a thing or two. I think Salmons more because Doug was able to play the 2 guard but take point guard responsibilities. Much like Salmons may be asked to do at times. I don't want to see him with the Lakers. Every Laker fan called Doug a whipped little... well you know... For him to end up there would really suck...

It made it a little easier considering that he played like 12 games with them.

Seeing Vlade back in the Laker uniform - wearing the same number he had worn the first time around with them - was almost like the whole Kings experience had been some kind of dream. I really didn't equate Vlade Divac - Lakers #12 - with our Vlade #21.

But he was our Vlade first...nah nah nah. :p ;)
(Just kidding VF!)
