DC was on Cold Pizza today w/ Jackie and he said that he is going to sign with a westcoast team next week....Dana on Cold Pizza asked if it was a former team and DC stated "we will see".....had a smile on his face too.....Ron & DC would be a fiersome defensive duo indeed...

he did also played for the Lakers and Mavs, those teams are on the west so it could be them too. but i love to see DC in a kings uni again.

im pretty sure he or the seattle front office, said they wouldnt be acuiring dc, i think if he comes here hell see less that 12 minutes a game, and wont make any impact, except to possibly relieve minuites for ron and kevin and keep them healthier in the post season...but both kevin and ron dont seem to have much conditioning problems, so i doubt dc comes here

I say its definetely LA or Seattle, due to his ties to those teams, and their needs...we don't need anymore help at the SG position.

Glad to see him lace them up again if indeed he is healed. Doug's a good guy, I think, and if he can contribute to a team, more power to him.

Doubt it would be the Kings, though. Lakers? Seattle has said no already.... Mavs are in the west but not a west coast team, and I think he burned a bridge there already.

My guess is the Lakers, unless maybe Portland or the Clips want him for some reason. Does GS need another guard?

I doubt its to the Kings, but i would love to see him play for the Kings. It was actually quite hard for me to see him go when we traded him for Mobley.

It could be the Lakers as well (i suspect anyway). Would he accept an offer from the Lakers after all the hatred between them and the Kings? He did play here when that rivalry was at an all time high.

Well, it showed his fight with Rick Fox and a pic of him pointing to the sky in a Kings uni...also, why would Doug go to LA? He hates LA.....Also, Jackie said "let's pray" when asked if it was a former team signing DC....He should come to Sac and be a coach here...teach Kevin Martin some D skillz.......DC and Jackie love Sac....

That would be awesome but Phil would love having Doug in LA(unfortunately). He's the SG with PG skills PJ would love to put at PG. I hope to god he doesn't go to LA though.

I really hope he comes here to Sac again, but I don't know.

Christie is washed up....no thanks.

So many people on here live in the past. Players age and move on and there is no need to try and bring someone back just because he used to play here. Maybe we can still get Mike Peplowski and Otis Thorpe, I here they are trying to make a comeback .

We also don't need the embarrasment of the Doug and Jackie "reality show".

Well, DC has more heart and better defensive skills than everyone on our team other than Ron Artest....I could see K-Mart having the heart and D that Ron has, but the rest of the Kings lack it.....I think K-Mart is a cross between DC and Rip....I love the Kings, but they lack the heart....I remember Doug carried SAC a few years ago against Minny in game 7 of the playoffs.....without a steal by Doug and a big 3 pointer, we would have never had a shot.....he always lifted up the Kings with his heart and passion....something he could give us if he coached the Kings......

I 99.9% doubt it's the Kings - we've got a couple young guys to fill that role, thanks. I don't see DC coming here to play with the Kings at all. Love the guy, but he's going somewhere else.

Lakers make the most sense -- he is a perfect Phil Jackson PG in the Ron Harper mode. Of course another bitter pill for Kings fans after seeing Mitch, then Vlade, and now Doug possibly lace them up the purple and gold. And more than a bit weird for L.A. too as Doug was last seen belting one of their players on the jaw.

what I think is funny about sports that there is no loyalty to team or player in any fashion....we let go of Vlade and signed Greg Ostertag for $....Vlade didn't want that much and Greg just sat the bench.......Doug leaves so we can sign Mobley for a half season and he leaves....Bonzi and so on....doesn't make any sense to me.....

This would be so F-ING awesome!!!

I know we have a good amount of guards here in SAC but non of them have the D like Christie got. His love for the game and his effort alone earns him a spot in my book.

Christie and Artest locking up Kobe would be awesome.

::crosses fingers::

that is what I tried to say, but nobody seems to want DC back here....he and Ron would lock down the #1 & #2 people on any opposing team.....we would have a good team....then get rid of our garbage FA's and sign KG.....we would be unstoppable...

El-Lay does make the most sense. I saw in some other thread here that Christie was compared to a poor man's Scottie Pippen and of course brick made the Ron Harper comparison.

I thought I saw somewhere recently that Seattle had no intrest in aquiring Doug. Not sure though.

Love DC but he's got no spot on the roster. I'd dump Jason Hart in exchange for Doug though.

It's not that we don't want Christie back we're just being realistic and seeing that there is no spot for him. BTW you can't sign KG, he's not a free agent...

i know youre being sarcastic, but we DID end up getting otis thorpe back for a season. worked out pretty well for us, as he left with mitch for c-webb.

what youre saying makes sense, but to have christie back in some sense, such as an asst coach, does a lot for the franchise. i know everyone was pained when vlade left, and even more when he didnt come back to work in the office for us.

I agree it would be nice to have DC in the organization but he's trying to PLAY ball right now.

If there is a God...not LA. Though he did wear #8 when he was Laker before.
I think I heard something about Golden State, actually.

i agree with the reality show part, we dont need that embarssament at all

had we not singed mobley we would have had an injured dc, itleast we got mobley for a half season, and near the endo of 04-05 mobley mike and peja were really are only guys (brad was injured, as was bobby).

If you go back into the old threads you'll see a lot of discussion about Doug Christie and how we feel about him. What some are saying is:

1. He's not the same Doug Christie he used to be.
2. The Kings are not the same.
3. We're already overloaded with guards.
4. We don't have any money to spend on him.

Doug was great. Notice the emphasis on WAS. We're in the process of trying to rebuild the Kings into a team to go forward not try and relieve 2002-2004.
