I think Nelson is just supporting his guy and his guy is worth supporting. On the facts, each of their performances through season end has been outstanding. Surprisingly, in my view, a good case can be made for both of them, and both will have outstanding careers, but Evans had the edge in a big way at the beginning of the season and has maintained his excellent play, so much so that I believe he has clearly held through Curry's fantastic second half. Don't beat up on Nelson.

So, big deal. He's pushing for his guy. Good for him. I don't think this classifies him as an "idiot" or whatever most posters are calling him. The fact of the matter is Steph Curry has made a run at the ROY. I don't think he will win it, but it's not Tyreke by a landslide as it was 30 games ago.

This really isn't newsworthy IMO.

Oh wait, you're right...I remember him saying stuff like that 25 years ago, actually...right after we drafted Joe Kleine! Everyone's going to push for their guys, no matter if they're averaging 10 pts or 100, Jerry Reynolds...Don Nelson...Grant Napear...Tim Roye...they all do it, and they'll all vote for their guy too. More than likely Tyreke will win the ROY by about a 2-1 margin though...at least I can HOPE he does.

Longevity has to be figured in here. I mean, KAJ is the all time leader in scoring, but that doesn't necessarily make him the best scorer.

While I definitely agree that Nellie's system is trash, I don't think rings are everything. There are many great coaches far better than Don Nelson who haven't won any rings, e.g. Jerry Sloan. But of course Sloan's failure to win a title has more to do with who was on the opposing team than to do with his system.
