Domantas Sabonis, Son of Arvydas, First of His Name

Let me give some advice to you. Take your advice and shove them up your ass. I do love Domas and I don´t enjoy anyone but Kings, but it does not mean I would stand some butthead limiting me on what I want to say. We don´t stand any censorship here in Ukraine. Now go **** yourself

Well, that was a precisely calculated response.

If he’s actually Ukrainian, props to him for following the team considering, well, everything but rules are rules. If he’s not Ukrainian, shame on him for trying use that as a shield for trolling.
Also where was this guy for Lensanity?

And all of this over assists?

I think he just hates Sabonis passes the ball? And wants him to shoot 30 times a game? Despite a good chunk of the reason Sabonis is elite is because he's essentially a 6'11 PG and that's very very hard to stop

We traded away 52 3Passisted for stale lasagna. and we gave them Buddy Buckets for free. I bet he has 700 of those 3s alone.

Remind me, how were the KINGS when Hali was here? Under .500, no?

And now they’re over .500 and clearly a much better team than they pre-trade — yet some are still going hopelessly cling to the notion that it wasn’t a mutually beneficial trade?

Absurdity.

Nobody cared about Hali when he was here. People just act dumb because they think they can dunk on us forever.

I was one that disliked the trade when it happened. I really like Tyrese and miss him on the KINGS.

But I’ve also come to recognize that both teams are better after the trade.

An old adage says, to get something good you have to give up something good.

The KINGS gave up a helluva player. But they got a helluva player in return. And that player meshes with and compliments Fox and the other players much better. It just works better.

As good as Hali has been for Indy and as good a player as he is — I don’t believe the KINGS would be winning as much as they are had they remained status quo.

And had the KINGS been able to trade Swipa for Domas instead of Tyrese — I’m still not convinced the team would have been better off. Especially given the way Swipa is playing this season.

Tyrese is a better play maker than Swipa, and a more consistent 3 point shooter but that’s about it. Swipa has the skillset to take over games at crunch time, which is why he’s been atop of the Q4 performers the past couple years. And his defense under Brown has him really developing as an all-around player.

Until proven otherwise, this trade remains a win for both teams.

The thing that could turn into a disaster is if Sabonis leaves in 2 years when his contract expires, we basically gave up haliburton for a 2 year rental of Sabonis. I guess that remains the big question at the moment. Otherwise yes it looks like both teams did well in the trade for now. I personally prefer Hali over Fox. He is 3 years younger and just as good as fox. It'd be easier to build with shooting, passing, and a guy who could make others better as opposed to what Fox brings, but it's not like we ever had the choice on who to trade in the Sabonis trade. For all we know, Pacers probably wanted Hali instead of Fox.

LOL, another one who is stuck in time and please stop with that sign/renting narrative....

Um, no.

You wouldn’t take Steve Nash over Kobe Bryant, would you?

Swipa brings a needed element to the team that Tyrese doesn’t have. His speed and ability to create and get any type of shot he wants at any time is super important. Especially at the end of games. And becomes even more important in the postseason.

The 1998 - 2004 era KINGS were missing that exact thing — until they landed Mike Bibby. Which took them to another level. Swipa has the ability to be a closer. And dependable 1on1 scoring threat when buckets are needed most.

Swipa is more in the mold of Ja Morant and Donovan Mitchell. And that type of player is more valuable than a double-digit assist guy that doesn’t have the 1on1 skillset that Fox, Mitchell and Morant each have.

With Swipa and Domas, the KINGS essentially have two players that need to be double-teamed when the game comes down the biggest moment. Tyrese didn’t give them that element to the same degree.

No chance I’m keeping Tyrese over Swipa. IMO the KINGS made the right choice, if indeed there was a choice to be made.

Obviously not many would take Steve Nash over Kobe Bryant, but a more apt comparison would be Chris Paul vs John wall. Talent level, playstyle, and stats are very similar to these two.

Is it not a real possibility rather sooner than later?

We can offer him more money than anyone else and he’s clearly been happy here with a team trending in the right direction and with his happy home in Napa. Things can always change but as of now there’s no reason to think he’d leave

I see.. that's good. I guess he'll have some incentives to stay then.
