Does anyone have DSL???

I'm looking for DSL. I live in the Sacramento area and have broadband (Comcast). I hate paying $62 a month. I no longer have cable and that's why I'm paying so much for broadband.

I'm looking for DSL. If you have DLS, which one? AT&T? Are you satisfied and how much do you pay? Also, how fast is it?

I called AT&T and they only offer Pro DLS with the rate up to 3.0 mbps. They don't offer the Elite DSL with the rate up to 6.0 mbps. Is the rate up to 3.0 mbps really fast or slow?

The reason why I'm looking for DSL is I'm trying to cut back on some of my bills to try and save, however, if 3.0 mbps is like an upgraded dial-up then I might considering keeping broadband.

I had the 1.5 or 3 mbps a year or so ago before we moved (when we lived in Elk Grove) through Frontier. In general, I think the DSL worked fairly well (don't recall a lot of down time, etc.) and DSL pricing is typically a lot better than other broadband (cable, etc.). Believe me, unless you are downloading movie files off torrent websites, 3.0 is plenty fast for 99% of the typical internet user. I have this because I live in the country and cannot get DSL or cable, and the speed is fine for me (about the same as you are looking at).

I've had SBCGlobal (now AT&T) for years and have not had any issues (although I don't live in Sacramento). I bundle it with my home phone and long distance that I don't use for about $60 a month.

I've got no plans to switch any time soon.

Is clearwire available in your area? I have it set up for my mom in Orland, and the prices are very good, around 30 dollars a month.

I just now hooked up my DSL. Its a self installation. Its not as slow as I thought it would be. In fact its pretty fast. You can't even tell if I'm DSL or broadband. And the best part, its only $30 a month.

Great!

Like I said, for most people for most uses, you won't really notice a difference between most forms of broadband, including DSL.
