do we still hold monia's rights if he decides to come back?

I can see Corliss and maybe Potapenko and maybe Hart for one guy. A lot of teams would love to have about 12mil coming off the books next year.
Excuse me while I say AUGH! No one is going to give up much for those 3 guys expiring contracts or not. MORE importantly I have to keep wondering why Kings fans allways see expiring contracts as valuable to everyone EXCEPT the Kings.

I can appreciate the eternal optimisim that drives fans to belive that with just a little tweeking this year (said every year) the Kings can make a serious run at the finals. Sorry to be a downer but this squad is FAR from being a real contender. WE have 2 guys that are top 5 at their position (3 if you count Brad) a buch of undeveloped raw tallent (Cisco and the rookies) one emerging starter and several over paid middleling vets. Next off season looks prety promising in terms of BOTH FA's and Draft picks. This all spells REBUILD to me.

I have to say I would not mind seeing the Kings trading FOR expiring contracts, and getting ready for some serious runs at a TOP FA and or drafting HIGH, maybe even trading UP in the draft. But giving up our cap space for next season so the Kings can get another middling vet that MIGHT help with another low seed play off run just seems to perpetuate the cycle the Kings have been in ever since Webers knee went out.

I'll wait until I actually see what the team plays like next season. I don't think talent is much of a question. It's more about direction and what this team can actually do on the court, or even what they want to do on the court.

I thought we were done when Webber went down, and then we proceeded to be the top team in the league the next year until a late falloff. You never know.
