Detroit is in Big Time Trouble

And I pick them to win this series.:( I can not stand San Antonio.

However, there is nothing that the Pistons are showing me that convinces me that they can win 4 out of 5. Very disappointing.

Well, since I dislike the Pistons, and I will cheer for the team representing the West...I am happy with the Spurs 2-0 lead. :)

i'm with you on this one. i don't like san antonio. i didn't think detroit could beat them, though. but i was hoping they would.

i, too, am very disappointed.

I love the Pistons and the way they play ball at their best but I have tons of respect for the Spurs and enjoy watching them play. I want the Pistons to win but I just like watching this series either way. Manu is amazing, thats all.

Detroit has looked pathetic on defense, besides all the blocks. Manu is strolling to the basket and getting cute little finger rolls. Step up Detroit, I don't feel like losing money.

Detroit has to beat San Antonio 4 of 5 now with a bad offense against maybe the best defensive team in the league other than themselves. Its not completely impossible, but its getting pretty close to it. You're in a lot of trouble when all the other team has to do is score 80 to guarantee itself of victory.

That's what I'm saying... I'm waiting for him to explode.

Define "explode"...

;)

I've been waiting for him to explode, too. Somehow I don't think we're using the same definitions of the word.

GO SPURS!!!

:D

Very true. I guess defense helps you win championships but if you have no offense, you aren't winning anything. Detroit lost to much offense with their offseason moves. It sure would have helped that pathetic half court offense of theirs, if Okur was still stretching out the floor a little. No one on Detroit can make a jump shot this series, San Antonio looks like they are daring them to shoot. The Spurs are packing it in so much Detroit can't even get to the basket. How about Prince, what did he have like 3 points the other night?! Manu is killing him... on both ends! Whose the shut down defender again

? Detroit will have a good shot at winning game 3 at home, but if they don't... get out your brooms.

dissapointed what? i know detroits playing bad, but the spurs are known to look great in their first two games at home and then then become a totally different team on the road. dont worry about detroit, they havent played at home yet. a series doesnt start until someones wins on the road. detroit in 7. just wait and see the energy in detroit.

Detroit played one game - at home in front of their rabid fans - and shut the Spurs down. The important thing to see is if they can do it again Thursday. They took a step in the right direction but they're not completely back quite yet.

They will continue it thursday. They made tim duncan and ginobli look like rookies out there. I'm pretty sure if they can hold em' to numbers that are slightly better than todays, then they have a really good shot at winning on thursday.

Personally, I don't think the Spurs will come out Thursday looking anywhere near as flat as they did tonight. They made Tim Duncan and Ginobili look like rookies? Hmmmm. And what would you say the Spurs did to the Pistons the first two games?

One thing about these games is that you never know which team is going to show up for either the Spurs or the Pistons. My "money" is still on the Spurs, but that's why they actually make them play the games.

;)

spurs will win game 4.

if detroit was going to win a game in this series, this was the game they were gonna win. and they did.

spurs looked like hades out there. duncan didn't do anything out there, rip and billups killed em.

so they got there one game, the spurs won't back down. they will do what they need to do on thursday.

The Pistons rutinely beat the Spurs this game pretty much thanks to the hustle. They are still to get any sort of production from Wallace, if that happens they will win Game 4. McDyess is having some serious impact off the bench and I am very glad for him as a player and for his team.

I agree it was because of hustle, sloter. The real question is how much of that hustle was due to adrenalin and the energy from the fans at the first home game of the finals? Can Detroit put together another game of hustle and determination? That's one question.

Are the Spurs going to allow the Pistons to take them out of their game a second time? That's another question.

One thing I think isn't in question is that this series is nowhere near as boring as some were predicting...

:D

Why is it that when the pistons win its about, "oh if there was a game they would win, its this one", and "they had adrenaline from being in their first home game", and "it was flat out hustle"?????
But its different when the spurs win.
Man I'm tired about hearing how good the spurs are, and how detroit was bound to win "1" game. Detroit will win this series. They will win the next 2 and the spurs will win game 6 and the pistons will pull it out in 7. Plain and simple.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz i fell asleep watching the game today.... got a 2 hour nap

Why is it when Detroit finally manages to eke out one win it's all about "Detroit will win this series."

Dude, it's just a game. And it's a game between two teams not named the Kings.

Aren't we allowed to root for either team? Yes, you and some others are rooting for the Pistons. Cool. Others of us are rooting for the Spurs. That should also be cool.

Quite frankly, I don't really give a tinker's damn. My heart went out of the finals when the Kings did. Right now, it's just a last pathetic grasp at basketball for the 2004-2005 season. It's not life and death.

Yep.

SA was ho-humming it out there while Detriot came to play. SA wont make that mistake again. I think it will be close but SA will take this game and the next.

VF21, I don't think it's just hustle (although the Spurs did seem to get most of loose balls in Games 1 and 2, so it could be the home floor energy), Detroit's play throughout these playoffs have been shaky in pretty much every round, but they do guard Duncan better than any other team in the league. If they can hold Ginobilli to reasonable numbers, Detroit will win the series.

Also, if you're falling asleep through this, then perhaps you should switch to another sport.
