Demarcus Cousins Story

I think this is the right place to put this because he's a potential draft pick and shows what kind of character he has lol. Im not making a great big deal about this just thought it was pretty funny and something id like to share with all of you. Well, me and my brother went to the Elite 8 game between Kentucky and West Virginia (we live in morgantown so we're huge WV fans) and after our win we went to see the Kentucky and WV buses, we had to stand across the road because we couldnt get to close to the bus. So the Kentucky team came out first and me and my brother being 17 and 19, excited about the win for our team decided to wave to Demarcus Cousins while he was on the bus in the front seat. He didn't think it was very funny lol. So he walked off the bus and stood beside it looking at us, (We were scared to death, shaking lol) Then he started to point at us. That lasted for a couple seconds. Then he walked back on the bus looking directly at us making a fist with one hand and punching his other hand lol. Now i know he just must have been pissed about the loss but i just thought i should share this with you guys lol. We didnt think it was very funny at the time but now we laugh about it lol.

No offense, but I don't know you from Adam and you could make up anything you want. This is the worse kind of rumor, because its unique to just you and no one has any way to refute it. And if true, I don't know what was going on in his mind and how he may have interputed what you and your brother were doing.

For all I know, you don't like Cousins and decided to make something up. You may be telling the truth, but I'm sure you can see my point.

I am dead serious and i'm not trying to make up a rumor. Take this off that's fine. I am actually one of the people that would love cousins even after this. I was just telling kings fans what happened. I thought it was kind of funny.

Whats the big deal?
Dude just lost his final college game and might of thought you and your brother were busting his balls a bit. Head case is a bit of an overstatement, don't you think?

Your right head case is a strong word ill take it back. I really didnt even think of it as a huge deal. I cant say i wouldn't have done the same thing. If i was him i would've been pissed off too.

Angry/upset/pissed/dissapointed athlete all sound like a more accurate description than headcase to me. If he came over and beat you up, headcase may be a little more accurate...

OP:

Whatever the outcome of this thread, don't let it deter you from continuing to post here, you seem cool enough. Just learn from it.

edited. I just thing a Soon to be NBA player shouldnt let little things like that get to him. He'll get worse stuff during games and on the road in the NBA.

I don't know about the story, but I've watched a few Kentucky games, and I've seen too many where he and the coach are getting into it. Red flag warning. He's emotionally immature. And he's going to get into foul trouble a lot in my opinion in the NBA, especially in his early years. Foul trouble and emotionally immature spells trouble. It could be a Thompson situation squared.

Why when there's a story like this someone has to make a remark that this may not be a true story? Like what does it take to get credibility in the Internet world? A certain amount of posts or do you have to be a moderator or something? Same thing happened in that thread where that guy claimed a girl told him that hawes had said that he gets intimidated by other bigs in the NBA.

It is something cousin's needs to get ahold of or he wont be in the nba very long.
So maturity and not being a headcase means being personable and likeable? How about you define "headcase" since Cousins was able to control his temper on the court just fine in some very high pressure games, including a couple where guys were intentionally trying to provoke him into getting a technical, and he hasn't been arrested or accused of anything off the court.

The dude had probably dreamed of making a final four in what was always likely to be his only year in college. He just had that dream crushed, were you expecting him to laugh and joke with a couple of people he doesn't know and doesn't know the intentions of? Considering your WV fans he no doubt thought you were there to taunt him, and probably didn't appreciate it. This somehow makes him a "headcase"?

I've got news for you: A lot of pro sports players will act like dicks to fans at times, especially after a crushing loss. I am sure I am not alone in having experienced it myself at various pro sporting events, from star and scrub alike. It may influence what I think of them as a person, but it really has no bearing on whether or not they are a "headcase" or able to control their temper. A lot of very good players in pro sports have reputations for being dicks off the court/field.

Do you consider Thompson a "headcase" because he often gets frustrated (rightly or wrongly) and let's his emotions to the surface when he yaps at the refs? And he is much older than Cousins, who isn't even of legal drinking age yet.

Oh well, we better draft this Kid!

This should be the kind of player we should be getting this coming draft - BIG, BAD, and MEAN and one who hates losing!

No more of the seemingly soft, finessed, scared to fight/bang bodies kind of center please.

To be honest I like the fact that he was mad after the game and showing some emotions. If he was cool and signing autographs afterwards that would be more disturbing.

Shoing emotion, and showing professionalism and control are too different things. I agree, be mad that you lost. Hate losing, want nothing more than ot win. However, when you lose fans of the opposing team that taunt are a part of the game. Stepping out of the bus, pointing and punching your fist at people is NOT appropriate in any way shape or form.

Would Tyreke have done that?? Tyreke has made comments when trying to be asked about a bad loss, and he said calmly I don't care right now...I've never lost that bad in my life. That's ok, that I get. He didn't tell the reporter to get out of his face, or punch his fist at fans that probably taunted him as he walked off the court.

Headcase may be a bit much. Emotional maturity is a very possible issue. Doesn't mean he can't grow out of it....just means it may be an issue early on.

Reggie Miller got into it with Spike Lee, I wouldn't call Reggie a headcase. I do agree that Cousins needs to control himself and I am sure that it will come with experience.

So let me get this straight. You're standing across the street from the UK bus feeling good about your win. You wave at Demarcus Cousins to get his attention and mess with him. He gets off the bus and stares at you menacingly from across the street, then points at you. He doesn't say anything and then gets on the bus and threatens you with the palm punch move.

Sounds like he was just messing with you back....and he got the better of you because you were "scared to death shaking lol".

i would've done a lot worse if i was in Cousins' situation lol. Some fans of the other team waving at me after i lost a big game? I just don't think something as subjective as this counts.

I can't imagine anyone using a palm punch thingy as a real threat and not as a joke.

Exactly, its over the top and hokey. Like if he had done the throat slash thing.

Now if he had flipped them off, or cursed at them, that would have been more of a sign he was rattled and a head case.

This isn't a thread determining if the word "Headcase" is right for this. I already admitted headcase might have been to strong of a word. But this still is unacceptable behavior by a player.

He's not allowed to mess with you after you were messing with him first? Why not?

I see nothing wrong with this story. A college kid "giving what he's getting?" Nothing to see, move along. It would have been something else if he threw something at you or ran after you. Doesn't seem like a red flag to me.

The title of this thread is misleading. How does this story, which can't even be confirmed to have happened or not, imply Cousins is a headcase?

I'm not here to question the OP, but I don't think this is a big deal even if it did happen. IMO, if Cousins is available when we're picking, we take him without hesitating. Unless of course we are lucky enough to have Turner still on the board. Nothing I have heard about Cousins would lead me to pass on him. If anything, not only would the best big in this draft help this team tremendously, but we could use a big with a little bit of a mean streak. It sure as hell won't come from JT or Spencer.
